About Julie Thompson, FNP-C PMHNP-BC

I am a dually boarded, both family and psychiatric, Nurse Practitioner with a Doctoral Degree in Nursing. I have worked as a Psychiatric Mental Health NP since 2016 and before that I worked in a family medical practice and urgent care as an FNP. I take only a limited number of patients to keep my focus centered on the individual patients that I work with and not the number of patients in my practice. My philosophy to recovery involves goal setting, both long and short term, with the ultimate goal of recovery. Timelines for this outcome are very individual and varies from 6 months to 2 + years. The therapeutic relationship between the patient and provider is of paramount importance. The provider must have unconditional positive regard for the best patient outcome.
