Dr. Beras Matos really listens - which is so unusual these days. He has a perfect bedside manner - he is clearly a doctor who CARES! He did not diminish any of what I told him I was experiencing. Unlike other doctors, he wants tShow moreo know about all my concerns - not just limit the discussion to his specific specialty. I’ve been struggling with my symptoms for almost a year - he and my PCP looked at everything as a whole & explained blood results which have been abnormal for a long time - explained what the result indicates & which organ is impacted. I’ve been being told for a year that all my results looked “good” and my symptoms were in my head or I’m just “dehydrated.” Dr. Beras Matos tested me for everything he suspected & gave me some over the counter medications which would help alleviate some of the symptoms until lab results come back. His lab tech was so incredibly kind as was his front desk. Highly recommend him!
Dr. Beras is outstanding and professional. The only thing I dont like about the office is every time I go in I make changes on my paperwork and it's never updated. I make changes every time I go in.
About Dr. Beras Matos
Julio Manuel Beras Matos, MD, is a highly qualified physician and rheumatologist at Arthritis Associates in San Antonio, Texas.
He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Rheumatology.
Dr. Beras Matos attended The Autonomous University of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic (the oldest institution of higher education in the New World- since 1538), where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree, “Cum Laude”.
He completed the Internal Medicine Residence at Danbury Hospital-affiliated to Yale University, in Connecticut. Dr. Beras Matos finished his Rheumatology Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHSCSA) in San Antonio.
Prior to joining Arthritis Associates, Dr. Beras Matos had been providing Rheumatology Services (outpatient care), in the city of San Antonio for many years.
He is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, the Texas Medical Association, and the State of Texas Association of Rheumatologists.
Dr. Beras Matos is fluent in Spanish, and also speaks French and Portuguese.
