About Lawrence Ackerman, LPC

I have 29 years of licensed experience providing counseling to individuals and couples using a combination of strength- based, solution-focused and family systems techniques. I am empathetic, a good listener and able to get at the route causes of issues. Work well with men, women, younger, older individuals from a wide variety of ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. Areas of specialty include mood disorders, life issues, relationship struggles, grief and loss, trauma, ADHD, work/life balance, boundaries, decision-making. I tailor the therapy to whatever are your presenting issues. There is no cookie cutter apporoach. Very open to receiving your input on how best I can meet your needs. Can provide hand-outs and homework assignments to help practice some of the skills learned in therapy. My goal is to help you navigate through life more successfully than when you started therapy.
