Dr. Mariola Rivera is a board-certified podiatric physician and surgeon and founder of Aesthetic Podiatry & Sports Medicine Center, specializing in sports medicine, regenerative medicine, biomechanics, advanced foot and ankle treatments, and aesthetic podiatry.
Dr. Rivera completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez and earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. She completed her postgraduate surgical training at Bellevue Hospital in New York City, a major academic medical center and Level I trauma center, where she gained extensive experience in medicine, trauma, and foot and ankle surgery.
Throughout her career, Dr. Rivera has cared for patients and athletes across New York City and Westchester County. She has particular expertise in regenerative medicine, incorporating advanced biologic and regenerative therapies when appropriate for sports injuries and conditions affecting the tendons, ligaments, fascia, and joints. Her goal is to promote healing, restore function, and help patients return to an active lifestyle.
With a background in dance and a personal practice of Pilates, Dr. Rivera has a unique understanding of movement, balance, flexibility, alignment, and lower-extremity biomechanics. She understands the different demands placed on the feet by tennis, golf, basketball, soccer, running, dance, and other athletic activities. Her approach considers not only the injury itself, but also biomechanics, training, footwear, performance goals, and injury prevention.
Dr. Rivera also has a special interest in footwear and shoe design, combining her knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, function, and aesthetics to explore how footwear can enhance comfort, performance, and foot health.
Dr. Rivera is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the New York State Podiatric Medical Association. She is affiliated with the medical staff at Northern Westchester Hospital, part of Northwell Health, and Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York City.
Dr. Rivera is fully bilingual in English and Spanish and is committed to providing individualized care that combines medicine, surgery, regenerative treatments, sports medicine, biomechanics, and aesthetics to help patients move, perform, and feel their best.

Dr. Rivera was very knowledgeable and friendly. She explained my options and made sure we came up with the right plan of treatment. Was able to get all my prescriptions and start treatment the next day. Highly recommend.
