Mehul Taylor, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Valley Orthopedic Institute in Palmdale and Ridgecrest, California. In addition to treating male and female patients of all ages who have general orthopedic issues, Dr. Taylor specializes in diagnosing and treating athletic injuries and arthroscopic surgeries.
Dr. Taylor has firm roots in Southern California, having grown up in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County and graduated from Calabasas High School in Calabasas. Dr. Taylor earned his Bachelor of Science in physiological sciences at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Dr. Taylor then earned his medical degree at Chicago Medical School in North Chicago, where he graduated with honors in 2002. He was also elected to the noted Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.
Next came an orthopedic residency at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, before Dr. Taylor traveled to Minnesota for the University of Minnesota’s sports medicine fellowship program. There, he received advanced training in arthroscopic surgery and served as an assistant team physician for the university’s football team.
Dr. Taylor is affiliated with two hospitals where he also treats patients: Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster and Palmdale Regional Medical Center in Palmdale.

I had heard good things about Dr. Taylor before my scheduled appointment on August 1st 2025. Dr. Taylor is extremely thorough and he possesses a combination of strong medical knowledge, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. I was also impressed with the staff and how they work together with Dr. Taylor. Dr. Taylor reviewed my x-rays,etc, spoke on new technology, and research findings that I felt were necessary to examine in the future. To me, this is what constitutes a great doctor providing outstanding service. So I got a chance to experience what I had heard about Dr. Taylor first hand and I am very grateful for his expertise, knowledge, and understanding of what I was experiencing.

I travel nearly 100 mi one way for my appointments with Dr. Taylor. Upon my arrival there is no waiting. His associates are pleasant and efficient. Dr. Taylor explains examination results and treatment options in detail. As a very busy surgeon, he never appears rushed. I very much appreciate his concern about my well-being.
Dr Taylor is always pleasant and answers my questions. Phoebelyn my therapist really puts me through a tough workout but it’s worth it no matter how tiring in order to get movement back in my arm. It’s all good!

Doctor Taylor was very professional
It was magnificent! I had a knee replacement. From the onset it went beautifully. The nurses, both pre and post-op were excellent. The anesthesiologist did an excellent job of relaying information on what would be involved. Dr.Taylor did a great job. The staff also kept my wife aware of what the progress was. I definitely recommend Dr.Taylor and the staff.
