About Us
Valley Orthopedic Institute is an orthopedic surgical practice that proudly provides patients of all ages with personalized, compassionate care in Palmdale and Ridgecrest, California.
Led by the highly educated and board-certified orthopedic surgeons Anand Shah, MD, and Mehul Taylor, MD, the team diagnoses and treats general orthopedic conditions and specializes in hand and upper extremity trauma and reconstruction, athletic injuries, and arthroscopic surgeries.
Patients visit Valley Orthopedic Institute for a wide range of conditions and health issues, such as sports injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, bone fractures and dislocations, and nerve and tendon injuries.
The practice helps to manage chronic pain conditions like arthritis, which can cause elbow pain, foot and ankle pain, knee pain, and shoulder pain. The doctors also expertly handle hip replacements, shoulder replacements, ACL repairs, rotator cuff tears, and hand surgeries.

Jeremy helped me get back on my foot and examined all X-ray’s MRI and cat scan. Dr Taylor checked all also and confirmed that I can walk on my foot now but be careful. Thank you I am most grateful to all that helped me!

Dr Taylor always takes the best care of me. He listens to me when I say I know my body.
I was given cortisone shots, and told to come back in six weeks for gel injections. I was told they would obtain authorization from my insurance company in the meantime. When I showed up for my appointment, the doctor had no clue why I was there, and they told me I had to come back after getting authorization, I thought that’s been in the works for the last six weeks! I wasted my time, and wasted $40 on a copay for nothing. I was disappointed because I hated recurved good care from VOI in the past, this level of care was very disappointing though.
An appointment with Dr. Shah is always informative, effective and friendly. He is very knowledgeable and has a great manner. He answers my questions, sometimes before I ask them. He is confident and realistic about his suggestions regarding injections, surgery, etc. The staff is also great, efficient and friendly. They have state of the art, cool equipment used for evaluation, analysis, treatment and diagnosis. I’ve never had to wait in the waiting room very long, nor in the exam room. They’ve got customer service figured out. This is a wonderful, efficient and friendly place.
Very pleasant staff and Dr. Taylor got right down to what the problems might be and explained our plan moving forward. Very caring and positive.
Dr Shah is the best!!
I went to Dr. Taylor for both a sciatica and rotator cuff issue. Him and his staff took very good care of me and helped me heal both injuries. Physical therapy worked well for both. Dr. Taylor was very patient when meeting with me explaining my condition, reviewing x-rays and MRI. I strongly recommend you give him a try for any orthopedic services. His staff at the front desk were very courteous. Taylor in billing and Cynthia were very kind to me. Thank you Dr. Taylor, Cynthia, and Taylor⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is the best overall medical office I have been to in a long time. The service in the front office is exceptional. Then going to the back office wad the same. People are genuinely concerned for your wellbeing. Almost no waiting to get to back office and to see the Dr. The PA john was also caring and took great care to listen and heard my needs. I saw Dr Tayler after that and he matched all the service mentioned in the prior comments. Thank you for the great service and exceptional care!

Dr Taylor is extremely professional and thorough in his explanations of your condition and his recommendations. The office is friendly and thorough. The surgical team that he uses is experienced and knowledgeable. They have performed multiple procedures on myself and my wife over the years without any complaints. We both highly recommend VOI.
I spent one full year in pain before moving forward with shoulder surgery. My primary doctor made the right call, suggesting Dr. Shah an his Team at VOI. It’s been one full year, an I could not be happier with the results!
