Mohammed Shakir, MPAS, PA-C, is Board-Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. He received his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistant and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistant. He is currently serving as a Medical Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve. He has a special interest in general medical dermatology.

He spoke Med-School language, during our meeting. We were on the same page because English was not his first language. His ability to teach why I being prescribed for medication’s for my medical issues. I didn’t feel valued as a patient. It was not explained to the purpose of the medication, but he did tell how/when to take the medication. Sorry, for me I didn’t like Assembly line customer service. I will never go back.

Appointments are always booked out a month. After waiting that long, you’re only to allowed to address 1-2 things during the appointment. The provider rushes through the appointment and talks so fast it’s clear he doesn’t care about what you’re saying and just wants to rush through the appointment. I told him something he prescribed me was making my issue worse and I’d like to try something else to which he responded “no it isn’t” and the prescribed me the exact same thing again. Extremely unprofessional considering this is implying I waited a month to see him so that I could lie to him? Regardless, if a patient is requesting alternatives to what is being prescribed, and alternatives exist, it’s your job as the provider to care for your patient who is paying to see you and accommodate those requests. The intake coordinators (I don’t know if they’re nurses or techs) are also rude and overall seem doubtful of everything you say to them. Very strange behavior. After this last appointment I will not be returning and will be seeking care elsewhere, where I’m treated like a human being rather than a number and a dollar sign.
