I’m forever grateful for Dr. Mulchandani. An unexpected fall left me with a fractured leg & extremely dazed over the whole thing. The ER treated everything very routine, which I guess I can appreciate, but it was so foreign to me.Show more I needed a very different doctor and after researching I found Dr. Mulchandani - he was in a private practice which I realized I preferred, had wonderful education, experience, & expertise and is just extraordinary — as is his office & team. After calling the office & explaining what happened, they got me into see Dr. M quickly & he was incredible. He was beyond kind & patient. He spent so much time with me explaining the injury, the options & confirming the findings at the ER (which had me practically prepped for surgery & that scared me crazy - no one was explaining anything to me) & Dr M took the time to show me how to use crutches (I had no idea how to use them). It turned out my injury would allow a non surgical route as long as healing steadily progressed (& I didn’t put any weight on my leg for about 8-10 weeks - I couldn’t even imagine that but I was still dazed). I went the non surgical route. Dr M monitored me closely for months ensuring my leg was properly healing & I followed his instructions to the letter. I saw him weekly / biweekly & he was always patient & kind. If I had any questions in between my appointments, he was always quick to answer or provide info through his wonderful team. It’s been a challenging journey though my leg has thankfully healed without incident & Dr M still supports recovery to ensure I am 100% . I cannot praise Dr Mulchandani & his team enough. I am so grateful I found them.
For starters when I enter into the place of business there was a greeting of hello welcome . . can I help you. Automatically. Nice clean fresh. Everyone one there handle their self with professionalism.. Dr Neil Took his time toShow more explain everything to the fullest of your understanding. I personally had a situation to where the whole team jumped intogether and came up with a solution to my problem. I felt safe and cared for. Who can ask for more.. Neil Mulchandani, MD, is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine and the founder of City Orthopedics in Flushing and Chinatown, New York City.
He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania. From there, he returned to his hometown of New York and attended State University of New York Downstate School of Medicine. During this time, his passion for orthopedics began as he worked diligently with the orthopedic department in significant research endeavors. Dr. Mulchandani went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at SUNY Downstate, where he served as chief resident during his final year. It was here that he developed a strong foundation of both general orthopedics and orthopedic trauma.
With a desire to continually refine his skills and expertise, Dr. Mulchandani went on to complete a fellowship in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital, where he trained under renowned surgeons in the field. In addition to expert clinical training, Dr. Mulchandani served as a team physician for Bronxville High School and Manhattanville College men’s and women’s ice hockey team. In addition, he served as associate team physician of the New York Jets professional football team as well as the New York Islanders professional ice hockey team.
As a native New Yorker, Dr. Mulchandani takes pride in helping patients get back to their daily lives. Although City Orthopedics sees a wide range of conditions, Dr. Mulchandani’s special interests include fracture care, cartilage preservation and restoration, ligament reconstruction, complex shoulder and knee conditions, and arthroscopic surgery.
Outside of his career as an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Mulchandani enjoys hiking, economics, traveling, playing basketball and soccer as well as spending time with his family and golden retriever.

Very friendly and very helpful
Dr Mulchandani was great presenting options to me, and successfully completed a complicated ankle surgery. I am very satisfied with the results now a few months later.
The person at the front desk, Eddie, as well as the people at the doctor’s office were very friendly and helpful. Dr.Mulchandoni has a lot of patience and provides detailed analyses in order to calm me down as a parent when evaluating my son’s volleyball injury. I visited Dr. Neil Mulchandani on a Friday because I had a situation with a swollen knee. This could have been a long drawn out situation (x-rays, return visits, etc.) but Dr. Neil Mulchandani handled my situation in a couple hours. I highly recommend him!

Honestly couldn't recommend a better doctor! Dr. Mulchandani is very thorough with his explanation and how walks you through his surgical procedures. At first I was fairly nervous but once I got to the hospital and onto the operating table all the nervousness went away as he has an excellent team that supported him. Same with his in house staff!
