After experiencing heel and Achilles tendon pain for 18 months I decided to see a podiatrist. I did a Google search for "best Podiatrist in Austin" and Dr. Shock was at the top of every list. I scheduled an appointment with PrecisShow moreion Podiatry and after meeting Dr. Shock and his staff it was no coincidence why they had such a lofty rating. Dr. Shock is down to earth, caring, highly skilled, and he has a wonderful sense of humor. I was diagnosed with heel spurs, left ankle contracture and Achilles tendon damage. Dr. Shock has since repaired my heel, my calf muscle, and my Achilles tendon surgically. I am at the six week mark of my recovery and after a visit with Dr. Shock today I found out I am healing properly and that I will begin PT in a few weeks. I can't thank Dr. Shock and his staff enough for the care and compassion they provide each and every time I visit their office. They are a happy family and I as their patient feel welcomed and a part of it!
I’ve been going to Dr Shock for years now. He has been amazing with my bunion surgery (both feet) and follow up care. He also saw my mom on a regular basis, who had dementia and major issues with her feet. He was an absolute rockShow more star with her! His sense of humor, ways of diverting her attention from her fears (mine as well) and even making her laugh each visit was beyond believable. I don’t think she would have let anyone else touch her feet at that point in her condition. She was scared of the foot dr and the procedures but she really liked Dr Shock. He has a wonderful way with people, is patient, upbeat, and extremely knowledgable and skilled at the care he provides. I highly recommend Dr Shock as well as his wonderful and friendly staff.
Ryan Shock, DPM, is a highly experienced, board-certified podiatrist at Precision Podiatry, with three locations in the River Park neighborhoods of Austin, Texas. Dr. Shock has received extensive training from various leading specialists in the fields of orthopedics and podiatry. His wealth of experience is vital in assisting his patients at Precision Podiatry.
Dr. Shock earned his medical degree at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, Illinois. While in Chicago, he also studied arthroscopy of the foot and ankle at the Orthopedic Learning Center. He furthered his skills by completing a fellowship in foot and ankle reconstruction at Harborview Medical Center’s Sigvard T. Hansen Foot and Ankle Institute in Seattle, Washington. Additionally, Dr. Shock received microsurgery training at the MOET Institute in San Francisco, California, as well as training in external fixation of the foot and ankle at the Russian Ilizarov Scientific Center for Restorative Traumatology and Orthopaedics in Kurgan, Russia.

I've been seeing Dr.Shock for almost 2 years now and I wouldn't see anyone else. He comes in, handles business and cracks jokes. Makes me feel at ease and keeps me occupied while he is administering shots or performing a minor surgery. I would recommend him to anyone.

I highly recommend Dr. Shock and Precision Podiatry for your foot needs. I’ve received nothing short of excellent care for my foot pain. I am now 5 weeks post-op and not only has everything been executed well, I am pleased with the outcome. The staff at River Place are wonderful people too!
Great experience. Had improvement of debilitating heel pain after 1st visit, completely fixed after 2 months. Dr Shock takes the time to answer all my questions. My only nit pick is their automated reminder system is annoying as heck, but at least you can’t forget your appointment.

I would highly recommend Dr. Shock. I came to him with a very messed up foot/ankle. I had seen another podiatrist and decided he wasn't what I needed. After researching, I came up with Dr. Shock and am so glad I did. He has a good rapport with patients, explains things in a way that I can understand and doesn't seems to mind answering my questions. His sense of humor helps put me at ease. His office staff and nurse are very good and friendly too.

Dr. Shock and his wonderful medical assistant were so patient with my daughter who was severely anxious about her procedure. I appreciated them meeting her at her level and trying to calm and distract her. They were able to get it done through her panic (not their fault) and took care of the issue she’s been having.
