Tara Rizvi, MD, at Texas Arthritis & Rheumatology Associates in Katy, Texas, is a board specialized rheumatologist with a passion for patient-centered, evidence based care, who treats men and women with rheumatologic diseases in the greater Houston area.
After specializing in rheumatology in 2008, Dr. Rizvi joined the Baylor College of Medicine, where she has served as rheumatology chief of service at Harris Health Ben Taub County Hospital, and Women’s Pavilion, Texas Children's Hospital as well as the program director for the rheumatology training program. In 2018, Dr. Rizvi was recognized for her achievements with the “STAR Award for Excellence in Patient Care” and “Women of Excellence Award” by Baylor College of Medicine.
As attending physician and chief of rheumatology at Ben Taub General Hospital for many years, Dr. Rizvi has extensive expertise in providing evidence-based care and cutting edge treatment for patients with a wide range of complicated rheumatologic diseases. As a speaker and expert representative for the Sjogren’s Syndrome Foundation, Dr. Rizvi was at the forefront of developing a world renowned multispecialty Sjogren’s clinic at the Baylor Clinic. She has conducted and published research with nationwide experts in rheumatology. She has helped develop and test innovative learning tools for patients with lupus, lupus kidney disease, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and sjogren’s syndrome.
Dr. Rizvi’s approach to her patients is driven by her passion for patient centered care. She prioritizes spending time educating patients about their autoimmune disease, and believes that empowering patients and their loved ones with knowledge about their condition leads to much improved outcomes. She also values a healthy physician -patient relationship built upon trust and mutual respect, and strives to give hope, a less painful future and a great quality of life to her patients despite their rheumatic disease.

Wait time 2 hours. PA was excellent….front desk was excellent. Saw Dr maybe 5 minutes. The person doing the initial check in to the room could use a course in people skills

I had an appt. W Tara Rizvi at 2.30. I saw her at 3.40pm! It was extremely difficult to ask questions as she spoke repeatedly. She seemed rushed and appeared very anxious to get this appt. over and done with. I did not like her manner. Very abrupt. She said she’d see me again in 4 weeks. When I arrived back at the desk there appeared to be a problem with that timeframe therefore I was given an appt. for six weeks. I do not recommend her at all!!

I was there as a new patient for over two hours, but I was not waiting. They were doing things the whole time asking questions talking about a game plan, medication’s future tests I like Dr. Rizvi a lot. they are extremely thorough
I highly recommend Dr Rivzi. She is so knowledgeable and caring and always listens and seems interest in my particular situation. Her office staff is also very friendly and polite.

Not worth exposing your health, money and time to this firm. You are not a patient, you are $$$$ symbol.

I really want to give 5 stars, but the wait time is always an issue if you have an appt in the afternoon. Dr. Rizvi is a fabulous doctor, and I guess I’m willing to wait the long wait times because I don’t want to see anyone else.
I had an appointment at 1:45pm, I showed up at 1:20pm and was called at 2:20pm. A trainee showed to ask a bunch of ridiculous questions and told me another "medical assistance " will come to ask me another questions, after a while the same trainee came back and said " I guest is gonna be me" what unethical. She couldn't even pronounce the name of my medications, after another round of nonsense questions I had to wait until 3:20 pm for Dr. Rizvi to show up. She told me she would send me to have some x-rays and MRI done, she didn't read in her computer that those test were already done back on March 1st.(45 days ago) and hadn't looked at them, meanwhile I kept expecting a call from her to tell me about the results but that never happened. She proceeded to read the findings, thing I already new because read them from my memorial Hermann portal, but no explanation of the medical terminology or what was happening. At the end she asked to look assistance from a pain killer MD. And if I needed her to call to set up an appointment. I LEFT THE CLINIC AT 3:35 PM WHEN THE APPOINTMENT WAS AT 1:45PM. NO, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DR.

Had a great experience for my first visit. The staff were all friendly. The nurse and the NP were very patient with me when taking my medical information. NP throughly explained the tests that would be done. Dr. Rizvi reassured me that we will find out what is going on with me. I just need to be patient toll my results all come in.
I am a first time patient. I. Loved my. Visit. Everyone was super Efficient and friendly including Dr.Rizi. They are very thorough.

They got to the root of a problem I've been dealing with since last year, no one diagnosed me right till now. I love the way they broke everything down so I could understand what exactly was going on
