Dr. Mazzola and his team are absolutely incredible! From the moment I walked into their office, I was greeted with warmth. He truly listened to my concerns and addressed them all with compassion and expertise. His knowledge and experience in the field are evident throughout every step of the process. Not only is Dr. Mazzola exceptional, but his entire team is as well. This is a long journey for me. The support staff is friendly, efficient, and always willing to assist. I was in so much pain the last time I had an appointment that everyone was going to stay a little bit late since I was the last appointment to give me some relief. They made me feel comfortable and reassured throughout my visits. The level of care and attention I received from everyone involved is outstanding.

Timothy Mazzola, MD, is triple board-certified in family medicine, sports medicine, and musculoskeletal ultrasound. He practices as a non-operative orthopedic and regenerative medicine specialist at Breakthrough Regenerative Orthopedics in Boulder, Colorado. His enduring professional passion is to bring restoration, healing, and hope to those looking to return to the life they love and be the people they are called to be.
Dr. Mazzola formerly worked as a non-operative orthopedic specialist at Cornerstone Orthopedics for eight years and was a United States Air Force Academy team physician.
Passionate about teaching, Dr. Mazzola is an assistant clinical professor at the University of Colorado in Boulder, teaching family medicine residents. He is a national expert and highly sought-after physician educator who has taught musculoskeletal and sports ultrasound for many years at the Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute and Advanced US courses at the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine National Conferences.
As a leader in the field, he recently co-authored a chapter on using ultrasound-guided techniques in regenerative medicine procedures in one of the first textbooks on regenerative orthopedics, titled "Regenerative Treatments in Sports and Orthopedic Medicine," edited by Drs. Malanga and Ibrahim.
Apart from his passion for bringing restoration and healing to those God sends his way, he is blessed to have recently celebrated 25 years of marriage to his heroic and amazingly compassionate bride. They have been blessed with two amazing sons, each gifted with strength, kindness, brilliance, and leadership.
In his free time, you may find Dr. Mazzola cranking his bike up a trail, flowing down a mountain through powder, or, if he's lucky, riding great waves with good friends.

Dr. Mazzola and staff are an elite-level diagnostic and treatment team. They resolved a chronic soleous issue that had prevented me from running for three years. Now I’m doing marathons again. This team is relationship oriented and really cares about helping its patients.

Dr Mazzola and his staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. I feel very fortunate to have them as a resource for PRP/HA injections here in Boulder.
Dr. Mazzola is thoughful, patient, and very experienced. I've had 3 surgeries on my right knee over the years. Needless to say its seen better days. Before seeing Dr. Mazzola I was having a hard time improving my knee's condition. I was constantly fighting surgery and arthritis induced inflammation. Dr. Mazzola's office has performed several non-surgical treatments which have helped me drastically reduce the inflammation(and pain) problem. And that has enabled me to continue working on my knee to strengthen and improve mobility. Its made a huge difference in my life all around.
