Dr. Onigu-Otite (Dr. Otite) is a triple-board-certified psychiatrist with expertise in Child, Adolescent, Addiction, and Adult Psychiatry. She earned her medical degree from the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria; completed her General Psychiatry residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston; and advanced fellowships in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
Dr. Otite previously served as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University and Medical Director of the Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress at Kennedy Krieger Institute. She is now a Full Professor at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

Richard Young, DNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC is an experienced psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at Lifespan Psychiatry & Wellness Center in Houston, Texas. Dedicated to serving his patients and aiming to provide the highest standard of mental health care, Richard is known for delivering care with excellence and integrity.
Richard has over 25 years of staff Registered Nursing experience spanning nephrology, psychiatry, intensive care, education, information technology, and skilled nursing. He also has over 5 years of Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing practice experience and 7years of Family Nursing practice experience in outpatient clinics and correctional facilities.
Dr. Young received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas in 1993. He went on to obtain a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Frontier Nursing University (Versailles, KY) in 2013 and began working as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
In 2020, Richard completed a Post Masters Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Practice at FNU and opened Lifespan Psychiatry and Wellness Center with Vivian Young, PMHNP. Richard graduated with his Doctor of Nursing Practice from FNU in 2024.
Taking an evidence-based and comprehensive approach to care, Dr. Young leads with medication management and provides combined support therapy. He specializes in assisting patients with different mental disorders, including anxiety, ADHD, Autism, depression, Bipolar disorder, PTSD, Schizophrenia, and dementia.
Dr. Young typically sees patients later in the afternoon and early evening, around 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. He warmly welcomes all patients to the Lifespan Psychiatry & Wellness Center and looks forward to caring for them across their lifespan.
Tawa Raji is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 17 years of clinical experience. She has extensive experience with child and adult psychiatry. She uses an integrative and client-centered approach to help the client build strength and clarity of mind to find their purpose.
My approach is client-centered; I like to listen to my clients and encourage them to participate in their care. I believe in building a good rapport with my clients and providing a safe space for them to feel comfortable expressing their emotional needs. I like to provide supportive and compassionate care to promote mental wellness and empowerment.
Based on my experience as a single mother. I believe in meeting people where they are, working closely with them to achieve their goals emotionally, and helping them build better and healthier relationships with family and friends. Most importantly, I teach them to love and see the value in themselves.

Dr. St. John has been in private practice in West Houston/Memorial since 2006. She treats adults ages 18 and up for a broad range of disorders including: ADHD, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety, major depression, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, and OCD. Her areas of specific interest include ADD/ADHD and treatment resistant depression.
Dr. St. John is one of few psychiatrists in Houston performing Transcranial Magnetic Therapy (TMS) for patients with treatment refractory depression. She adopted TMS into her practice in 2013 and has performed over 2,500 treatments.
Dr. St. John is also one of a few psychiatrists in Texas to utilize the FDA-cleared, computer-based QbTest to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of her ADD/ADHD patients.

I take time to build meaningful rapport, understand the unique challenges my patients face, and create tailored care plans that support both immediate relief and long-term growth. Asma Virani, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant. She graduated from the Physician Assistant Program at Gannon University in Sun City Center, Florida in August 2023. She has been trained to diagnose, treat, and manage psychiatric disorders while providing quality care.
Asma completed her undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University and received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She has always been passionate about understanding the human mind and how it affects behavior, mood, and cognition.
With the goal to encourage patients to become advocates of their own mental health, Asma aims to create a comfortable and safe space reflecting trust, compassion, and respect.
Outside of work, Asma is enthusiastic about spending time with her family and friends, traveling to new cities, and exploring different cuisines.
Dr. Guillen has always been interested in medicine along with the humanities, with psychiatry serving as a blend of both. Psychiatry has allowed him to consistently be involved with the human condition and work in an area of huge need in medicine. He became a psychiatrist in order to serve society and help those struggling with mental and behavioral disorders.
His areas of expertise include bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and schizophrenia. Dr. Guillen has been practicing psychiatry outside of residency for over ten years with experience in inpatient, outpatient, consultation/liasion, residential and emergency settings.
Dr. Guillen completed his residency in Psychiatry at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
He prides himself on being patient, inquisitive, respectful, and a strong advocate for patients.
Cynthia Banwell is a board-certified Physician Assistant. She graduated from the Physician Assistant program at University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, TX in February of 2023. Prior to completing her master’s degree in physician assistant studies, Cynthia graduated from University of Houston with an undergraduate degree in Health Promotion. Cynthia is excited to be back in Houston and working in psychiatry. She strives to provide compassionate patient centered care for each patient as she knows how important one’s mental health is to their overall well being. In her free time, Cynthia enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with friends, family, and her dog named Dunkin.
