After completing her training, she relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, and joined the Angel Kids Pediatrics team. She has also received extensive training in administering the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2). She has experience in assessing and diagnosing Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disorders, Anxiety, and Depression, among other mental health disorders in the pediatric population.
She also has extensive training in evidence-based therapy models, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). Dr. Hernandez-Gonzalez feels passionate about promoting integrated behavioral health in pediatric primary care, increasing access to mental health services for families of diverse backgrounds, and has been a change-maker and leader in normalizing treatment for mental health services.

Prior to joining Angel Kids Pediatrics, Emily spent several years providing direct behavioral support to children with developmental differences, which helped shape her passion for pediatric care and assessment.
Emily earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from the University of Florida, where she also was a Division I student-athlete, competing in cross country and track. Her academic and athletic experiences strengthened her skills in discipline, teamwork, and perseverance, which she brings into her clinical work every day.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her friends and fostering dogs through the local Humane Society.
