Dr. Babak Robert Bamshad is a leading urologist located in Beverly Grove, Los Angeles, California, serving patients throughout the greater Los Angeles area. Patients benefit from his expertise in treating urologic conditions ranging from urinary tract infections, incontinence, and enlarged prostate to erectile dysfunction, circumcision, and vasectomy.
Dr. Bamshad obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from UCLA, graduating Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He subsequently attended the USC Keck School of Medicine and graduated with the distinction of Dean’s Scholar for Academic Excellence. Dr. Bamshad completed an internship and residency in general surgery and a residency in urology at Loma Linda University. During this time, he was elected as House Staff Association President. Experienced urologist Emil M. Kheterpal, MD, brings more than a decade of experience in urologic oncology and robotic urology surgery to the Associated Urologists of North Carolina, practicing out of their Raleigh and Wake Forest locations.
Dr. Kheterpal began his medical career in Massachusetts and obtained his Doctor of Medicine from Boston University. Dr. Kheterpal then completed a urology residency at Henry Ford Hospital and the Vattikuti Urology Institute, a world-renowned leader in robotics and robotic surgery in Detroit.
Before entering private practice, Dr. Kheterpal attended New York University to complete the Bruce Sherman fellowship in urologic oncology. There, Dr. Kheterpal was an early adopter of multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the prostate for the diagnosis of prostate cancer. Additionally, Dr. Kheterpal completed a brief fellowship at the Kulkarni Endosurgery Institute’s Center for Reconstructive Urology in Maharashtra, India.
Dr. Kheterpal subsequently worked in a large health care system in New York as Director of Urologic Oncology and Robotic Urology Surgery. After he met his wife, he moved to North Carolina to be closer to family and joined the team at the Associated Urologists of North Carolina.
Dr. Kheterpal specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer and regularly uses cutting-edge treatments — robotic surgery and high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) robotic surgery. He is an expert at robotic surgery for prostate and kidney cancer as well as complex reconstructive surgeries. He enjoys caring for patients with general urology issues including kidney stones, low testosterone, benign prostate enlargement and is an expert at the urolift procedure.

Adam Ramin, MD, is board certified in urology, with sub-specialization in Urological Oncology and Robotic Surgery. His considerable medical expertise and surgical skills are enhanced by a true desire to provide a personalized, patient-first approach to medical care at his busy practice that’s located in the Century City district of Los Angeles.
Dr. Ramin received his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and completed his urological surgery residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in 2000. He subsequently completed fellowship training in urological oncology and laparoscopic urology at City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, California.
After completing his fellowship training, Dr. Ramin joined the faculty at the City of Hope as Assistant Professor of Surgery. He was among the first few surgeons in the United States to perform robot-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy using the da Vinci system.
Dr. Ramin has since performed more than 2000 laparoscopic and robotic procedures for prostate, kidney, and bladder cancers. He also provides innovative care for men and women experiencing urological issues such as prostatic enlargement, pelvic organ prolapse, erectile dysfunction, and urinary incontinence.

He brings his extensive experience to the team at Urologic Surgeons of Arizona, where he sees patients from the practice's offices in Mesa and Chandler, Arizona.
Dr. Woodruff was born and raised in Arkansas, where he attended Harding University and graduated Magna Cum Laud with a B.S. in Biology. He then attended the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, earning his Medical Doctorate. For his post-graduate training, he completed a surgical Internship at Louisiana State University and Oschner Medical Center.
After completing his Internship, Dr. Woodruff completed his urologic Residency at both Louisiana State University and Oschner Medical Center. A portion of his training occurred at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, as a result of necessary evacuation from Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Upon completing his Residency, Dr. Woodruff completed a Robotic/Minimally Invasive Urologic Oncology Fellowship at the prestigious Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. This Fellowship had a special focus on the treatment of all kinds of urologic malignancies, including prostate, bladder, kidney, penile, and testicular cancers utilizing the most up-to-date minimally invasive techniques available.
After finishing his Fellowship, Dr. Woodruff moved to Northwest Arkansas, where he practiced until 2012, serving as Director of Robotic Surgery at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Arkansas. Dr. Woodruff subsequently moved to Arizona and joined Arizona Urologic Specialists in 2013, serving the Valley with excellent care in all facets of urology since that time.

Andrew Raissis, MD, FACS, is a partner at the Colon and Rectal Surgeons of Greater Hartford, the largest dedicated colon and rectal surgery group in New England, with offices in Bloomfield and South Windsor, Connecticut. Dr. Raissis is board certified in both general surgery and colon and rectal surgery, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Chang graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry. He subsequently obtained a M.S. in Biochemistry at Tufts and completed his thesis at UCSF studying the role of tumor markers on microRNA biogenesis. He returned to New England to study medicine at Tufts and completed a fellowship as the Howard Hughes Fellow at Rockefeller University in New York City.
After medical school, he embarked on a General Surgery Residency at the University of Connecticut in Farmington, CT. This led to a research fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia as the Garbose Family Foundation Research Fellowship. He eventually returned to Connecticut to complete a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
Dr. Chang is excited to join the Colon and Rectal Surgeons of Greater Hartford and provide the most innovative and advanced colorectal techniques to his patients. He treats a wide range of conditions, including hemorrhoids, diverticulitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and colorectal cancer.
