Robert Lewis, MD, FACS, is a partner at the Colon and Rectal Surgeons of Greater Hartford, the largest dedicated colon and rectal surgery group in New England, with offices in Bloomfield and South Windsor, Connecticut. Dr. Lewis is board certified in both general surgery and colon and rectal surgery, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Lewis earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. After spending time working at the Boston City Hospital, he then pursued his doctorate in medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. While there he completed an additional post-graduate fellowship in Anatomic and Surgical Pathology. He continued training at the University of Pennsylvania, completing a residency in general surgery, as well as translational research at the Harrison Department of Surgical Research. After that, he underwent a year of subspecialty training in colon and rectal surgery at the University of Minnesota before happily joining this practice in 2014.
Dr. Lewis is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, the Frank Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, and the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is the program director of the fellowship training program in colon and rectal surgery at Saint Francis Hospital, the only advanced training program of its kind in Connecticut, and the director of the surgical rotation at the Eastern Connecticut Health Network’s family medicine residency.

Dr. Baratta graduated Summa Cum Laude from Yale University, double majoring in Molecular Biology and French. She obtained her medical degree at Brown University and returned to New Haven, CT to complete her General Surgery residency at Yale. During residency, she obtained a NIH T32 research grant to study the effects of targeted nanoparticle drug delivery in colitis mouse models and completed a Master of Health Science. Board-certified urologist Anthony Woodruff, MD, is passionate about providing timely, personal, and compassionate world-class urologic care. He brings his extensive experience to the team at Urologic Surgeons of Arizona, where he sees patients from the practice's offices in Mesa and Chandler, Arizona.
Dr. Woodruff was born and raised in Arkansas, where he attended Harding University and graduated Magna Cum Laud with a B.S. in Biology. He then attended the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, earning his Medical Doctorate. For his post-graduate training, he completed a surgical Internship at Louisiana State University and Oschner Medical Center.
After completing his Internship, Dr. Woodruff completed his urologic Residency at both Louisiana State University and Oschner Medical Center. A portion of his training occurred at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, as a result of necessary evacuation from Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Upon completing his Residency, Dr. Woodruff completed a Robotic/Minimally Invasive Urologic Oncology Fellowship at the prestigious Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. This Fellowship had a special focus on the treatment of all kinds of urologic malignancies, including prostate, bladder, kidney, penile, and testicular cancers utilizing the most up-to-date minimally invasive techniques available.
After finishing his Fellowship, Dr. Woodruff moved to Northwest Arkansas, where he practiced until 2012, serving as Director of Robotic Surgery at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Arkansas. Alex Lesani, MD is proud to offer the latest and most advanced treatment options in urology at his practice in Las Vegas, Nevada. At Midtown Urology Associates in Austin, Texas, Dr. Michael Trotter strives to improve the lives of every patient in his care through his specialization in vasectomies, male infertility, prostate health, erectile dysfunction, urinary tract infections, and male and female incontinence.
As a proud lifelong resident of Austin, Dr. Trotter began his education at the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. He went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

Why Urology?
The biggest reason I chose urology is that you go to medical school and do all of these rotations. The ones I kept enjoying the most and had the most fun seemed to be the urologists. There are very few specialties that allow you to follow patients throughout their entire life; kidney stones, for instance, is a life-long disease. So you establish relationships with these patients. You get a unique combination of patient relationships and continue to do surgical-related procedures. It makes it unique compared to a lot of other medical fields. I treat patients the same way I want to be treated. It goes a long way with the empathy you portray. Empathy is difficult for people to know how to express when you haven't gone through it yourself. That is a huge part of how we manage our practice.

Kjell Youngren, MD, brings nearly 20 years of urology experience to Advanced Urology in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey. He frequently performs painless, in-office, no-scalpel vasectomies.
Dr. Youngren graduated Bowdoin College summa cum laude, with honors in chemistry, and a double major in French. He also trained at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. Dr. Youngren interned in general surgery at the University of Southern California and completed his urology residency at UMDNJ-NJ Medical School, where he was the recipient of several awards for teaching and research.
Dr. Youngren is board certified by the American Board of Urology and an active member of the American Urological Association. He loves the challenges of community clinical practice and enjoys solving complex problems. His goal is to give relief, knowledge, and comfort to his patients and their families.
The son of two veterinarians, Dr. Youngren was raised with a love of nature, animals, the outdoors, and a deep sense of compassion and kindness. When not working, he enjoys spending family time with his wife and four children, hiking, reading, cooking and eating spicy food, collecting vintage jazz, soul, reggae and salsa records, building hi-fi equipment with vacuum tubes, and collecting vintage mechanical watches. In addition to English, Dr. Youngren speaks Spanish and French.
