Ram Reddy, MD, is board-certified in cardiology, nuclear cardiology, and internal medicine. With more than 38 years of experience, Dr. Reddy serves the Los Angeles communities of at COR Healthcare Medical Associates in Torrance and San Pedro, California,

Dr. Reddy graduated from Rangaraya Medical College, Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, in Kakinada, India, in 1982. He completed an internship at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in Chennai, India, before relocating to the United States. Dr. Reddy moved to Detroit, Michigan, and completed his internal medicine residency at Wayne State University.

Passionate about his work, Dr. Reddy pursued additional education by completing cardiology and nuclear cardiology fellowships at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. Salman Azam, MD, is a board-certified internist and cardiologist at COR Healthcare Medical Associates in Los Angeles. Dr. Azam earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Aghel earned his medical degree from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in Iran before moving to Cleveland for his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at Cleveland Clinic and Case Western Reserve University.  He then moved to Colorado and completed 2 additional years of training in interventional cardiology and advanced structural and vascular interventions at the University of Colorado in Denver.

James Matchison, MD, is an experienced physician at COR Healthcare Medical Associates who holds board certifications in internal medicine, interventional cardiology, adult cardiovascular disease, and adult comprehensive echocardiography. With a broad range of experience, Dr. Matchison is proud to serve the communities of Torrance and Redondo Beach, California.

Dr. Matchison earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson, before attending Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio. He later completed his residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California, and a general cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowship at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Sang Yong Ji, MD, is a board-certified adult cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist at COR Healthcare in Torrance, California. His board certification also includes internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, and echocardiography.

Dr. Ji was born in South Korea and moved to Paraguay during his junior high school year. He earned his medical degree from Asunción National University, Paraguay. He then moved to New York City to complete internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine before completing a cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated as the Best Resident of the year and with Program director's award & Chief of Division award from internal medicine residency program and cardiology fellowship program respectively. He also served as chief fellow at both Montefiore cardiology fellowship program and Johns Hopkins University cardiac electrophysiology fellowship program. Brenton Bauer, MD, is a board-certified internist and cardiologist at COR Healthcare in Los Angeles. He sees patients at the Torrance, Redondo Beach and El Segundo offices in addition to the cardiology department at Torrance Memorial Medical Center.  He specializes in general cardiology, cardio-oncology, and advanced cardiac imaging.

Dr. Bauer completed his medical education and advanced training at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). In addition to earning his Doctor of Medicine with honors, Dr. Bauer completed an internal medicine internship and residency, serving as chief resident, and a cardiovascular disease fellowship serving as chief fellow. He has been certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in addition to subspecialty boards of Echocardiography, Cardiovascular CT, and Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Bauer has written extensively for medical journals and other publications.

Nadia Jafar Curran, MD, is a board-certified internist and cardiologist at COR Healthcare Medical Associates. She specializes in women’s cardiovascular disease, general cardiology, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology.

Dr. Curran earned her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine, where she received the Gilda Lipton Memorial Award for compassionate care and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She then moved to San Francisco to complete her internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). During her training, Dr. Curran developed a curriculum that focused on women’s heart disease while researching lifestyle interventions in postpartum women with pregnancy complications. This research resulted in multiple presentations and publications, and informed the most recent guidelines on adverse pregnancy outcomes and cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Curran is excited to join COR Healthcare Medical Associates and brings her expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions, including risk factor assessment, prevention, microvascular dysfunction, coronary artery disease, spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD), valvular heart disease, heart failure and cardiomyopathies, preconception counseling, and pregnancy-related heart health.

Dr. Shin is board certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and internal medicine. She received her undergraduate degree from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island and she attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Shin completed her residency at the UCLA San Fernando Valley program, where she was chief resident, and her fellowships at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California and Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles, California.

Dr. Shin specializes in interventional cardiology, management of advanced cardiac disease, cardiac catheterization, coronary stent placement, peripheral arterial disease and intervention, echocardiography, stress echocardiography and pacemakers.

She sits on numerous committees and is the Cardiology Subcommittee Chair for Torrance Memorial Medical Center. 

She has received multiple honors and awards including the Society of Geriatric Cardiology Research Award; the Preventative Cardiology Award Program Grant; and the American Heart Association Fellowship Research Grant. Dr. Shin has been practicing in the South Bay for over 10 years. She is fluent in English and Korean.

Wilson Kwan, MD, MS, is a board-certified internist and cardiologist at COR Healthcare Medical Associates. He specializes in general cardiology and advanced imaging. 

Dr. Kwan earned his medical doctorate at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. He completed his internal medicine residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship at LAC+USC Medical Center / Keck Hospital of USC. 

He has been certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease in addition to subspecialty boards of Echocardiography, Cardiovascular CT, Nuclear Cardiology, and Vascular Interpretation. Dr. Kwan has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in medical and basic science journals as well as contributed to several book chapters.
