Mohs micrographic surgery is widely accepted as the most effective treatment for most types of skin cancer.

Dr. Allen N. Sapadin graduated summa cum laude from Yeshiva Univeristy and received his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Prior to accepting a research fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center, Dr. Sapadin attended Rutgers Law School and graduated with honors. 

He returned to Mount Sinai to complete a dermatology residency and served as Chief Resident in his third year. While a resident he earned many awards, including election to the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society. Each year this honor is bestowed upon three of six hundred residents at Mount Sinai Medical Center. In his third year of residency Dr. Sapadin was chosen by the American Academy of Dermatology to represent the United States at the annual British Association of Dermatologists meeting.

Following his residency, Dr. Sapadin joined the full-time faculty at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. There he earned the prestigious Solomon Silver award for excellence in clinical medicine.

Dr. Sapadin is an internationally-known researcher whose curriculum vitae includes over 100 publications. He lectures widely at national and international meetings and is frequently invited by hospitals to give “Grand Rounds” presentations. Most recently, Dr. Sapadin edited a theme issue for the Mount Sinai Journal of Medicine that is entirely devoted to Dermatology.

Dr. Sapadin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Attending at Hackensack University Medical Center, and resides in Englewood, N.J. with his family.

Dr. Vitaly Terushkin is a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon and a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist. He practices Mohs surgery for melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer. He also teaches dermatology residents at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Terushkin is one of a few Mohs surgeons in the tri-state area formally trained to treat melanoma with Mohs surgery and the MART-1 immunostain. He is a peer reviewer for several professional medical journals.  He is fluent in Russian and conversational in Spanish.

Dr. Burk is a board-certified dermatologist with 40 years of experience diagnosing and treating both garden-variety and rare, complex dermatologic disorders.

A graduate of Duke University Medical School, Dr. Burk served for many years as Head of the Division of Dermatology at the Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, where he continues to instruct residents and fellows as a volunteer teaching attending.

Dr. Burk was also an assistant professor and co-director of the Dermatology Training Program at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Philip Fried, MD, is the medical director at West Derm Center, which he originally founded in 1991. Under Dr. Fried’s expert guidance, the practice has grown to six New York locations, one each in White Plains, New Rochelle, and Yonkers, and their Bronx offices in Pelham Gardens and Riverdale. At each location, Dr. Fried ensures that patients have access to a wide range of dermatological and aesthetic services.

Dr. Fried began his education at Touro College in Manhattan, where he graduated magna cum laude. He went on to earn his medical degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. 

Dr. Fried completed a general surgery internship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark and served as a dermatology resident at New York Medical College in Valhalla. Dr. Ezra Hazan is a board certified dermatologist and fellowship trained Mohs surgeon. He graduated with honors from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Hazan went on to do an internship in internal medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He then completed his dermatology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and cosmetic dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital. There he gained extensive knowledge and experience in procedural dermatology, including surgery of the skin as well as advanced cosmetic procedures like injectables, lasers and light based technologies.

Dr. Hazan is on staff at Mount Sinai Hospital, where he helps train dermatology residents, and at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center. He has published many academic journal articles and authored multiple textbook chapters on various topics in the field of dermatology.
