Dr. James Wells joined our elite team of providers in July 2023, bringing with him over 40 years of education, training, and experience.

After graduating with his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, Dr. Wells began practicing Family Medicine at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital. He eventually moved to Selma Family Health Care, where he continued to practice Family Medicine, until he opened his own private practice, J. Darrick Wells MD, Inc., in 1996. Dr Wells continued to provide Family Medical Care for 22 years, before transitioning into the Urgent Care field of medicine.

Dr. Wells’ awards are numerous and extensive, including: the Richard D Steed Scholar Award, the All-Academic Award, the Associated Press Honorable-Mention, & Phi Beta Kappa. During his college years, he was the Team Captain for the Rice University Football team, he received the American Spirit award, the George R. Vital Clinic and Spa's founder, Harman Buttar, MD completed her training in Family Medicine at The Methodist Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program in Houston, Texas. She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). Encountered with health struggles in her immediate family, Dr. Buttar began to look into the role of environmental and biochemical factors in determining overall health and response to medical treatments. Bita Pour-Jafari, MD, ABAARM, is a board-certified family physician with years of experience, she provides comprehensive and patient-centered care at Texas Premier Physicians P.A. in Houston, Texas. 

Dr. Jafari earned her Doctor of Medicine from Hamadan University of Medical Sciences in 2004, completing her residency in family medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Odessa, Texas. In 2017, she furthered her expertise with a fellowship in Anti-Aging and Metabolic Medicine (FAAMFM) through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) which transformed her approach in medicine

She relocated to Texas in 1997 and worked at The Texas Instituted for Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR) before returning to UTMB to continue her education. She graduated from UTMB as a Family Nurse Practitioner and has special interests in Women’s Health, Diabetes and Hypertension. She also works with Medtronic initiating and training patients for insulin pump therapy. She is also trained in cosmetic procedures i.e. Botox, Juvederm and laser therapy.

Amneh Amro is a Physician Assistant that graduated from UT- RGV in 2012 and moved to Austin to pursue her career. She has worked in family medicine and urgent care settings for several years. She has gained experience in psychiatry during this time and enjoys the holistic approach if and when possible. On her free time she enjoys her family and loves to take her son paddle boarding!

Barbara Kiersz-Mueller, D.O., is a board-certified family physician who has specialized expertise in headaches, ADHD, sports injuries and child development. Dr. Kiersz Mueller treats patients through THINK Virtual Health.

Dr Kiersz-Mueller was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and moved to Florida with her parents and siblings at the age of 15. Dr. Kiersz-Mueller majored in chemical biology for her undergraduate studies at Stevens Institute of Technology, earning a Bachelor of Science. After graduating in 2010, she enrolled at the Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine to complete her medical degree.

Dr. Kiersz-Mueller undertook her internship in family and osteopathic medicine at the Medical College of Georgia from 2014-2015, and completed her residency in family and community medicine at the University of Texas Health Sciences San Antonio from 2015-2017, where she served as chief resident during her senior year. She joined THINK Neurology for Kids in 2020. Dr. Kiersz-Mueller holds certification from the American Board of Family Medicine.

When she is not devoting her time to young patients, Dr. Kiersz-Mueller takes great pleasure in spending time with her husband and hiking and paddle-boarding with their Dachshund. In December, 2019, Dr Kiersz Mueller became a CrossFit Level 1 trainer, which she hopes to someday integrate with her practice in order to promote self-confidence and strength in her patients.
