Hong earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Beijing University in Beijing, China. After moving to the U.S., Hong received a forensic nursing certification from the University of California Riverside-Extension Center in Riverside, California, served as a registered nurse supervisor at Plymouth Tower Care and Living Center in Riverside, California, and continued her work as a registered nurse case manager at Lorian Health in Murrieta, California. 

After earning a Master of Science in Nursing at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California, Hong certified as a family nurse practitioner and held the position of nurse practitioner provider at Peak Health Solutions in Franklin, Tennessee, before joining the team at Apple Urgent Care.
