Sandra Wittholz is a native of Mt. Pearl, Newfoundland, Canada. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing, with honors from the University of Kentucky and her Masters of Science in Nursing with a major in Women's Health from the University of Cincinnati. In 2002 she was awarded her Women's Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate from NCC; she was then licensed as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner- OB/GYN through the Maryland Board of Nursing in 2003 when site relocated to the state.
With over twenty years nursing experience, she has focused on Women's Health since 1997. Her previous work experience includes a position at Howard County General Hospital where she was a labor and delivery nurse. She is a member of the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health.
Sandra is an avid runner enjoying everything from 5k’s to full and half marathons. She and her husband, Mark, are the proud and busy parents of two children.

Selamawit Abegaz, MS, CRNP, WHNP-BC, joined Frederick's Capital Women's Care team in 2024. Her healthcare career began after graduating from Montgomery College in 2017 with an Associate Degree in Nursing. While working as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a high-risk perinatal center at Holy Cross Hospital, Selamawit continued her education and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland in 2020. Her deep compassion for improving women's health and commitment to promoting equity and inclusivity within the healthcare system motivated her to pursue a Master's degree in the Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) Program at Georgetown University, which she completed in 2024. With extensive experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients, Selamawit has honed the ability to build therapeutic relationships with patients from diverse communities. The rigorous WHNP program at Georgetown University further equipped her to deliver high-quality, evidence-based healthcare.
Selamawit is a dedicated advocate for equal access to exceptional care. Her mission is to ensure everyone receives the highest standard of evidence-based care regardless of their background or circumstances.
