Dr. James Wells joined our elite team of providers in July 2023, bringing with him over 40 years of education, training, and experience.

After graduating with his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, Dr. Wells began practicing Family Medicine at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital. He eventually moved to Selma Family Health Care, where he continued to practice Family Medicine, until he opened his own private practice, J. Darrick Wells MD, Inc., in 1996. Ms. Christine Thorpe-Gilpin joined the Calvary team of providers in early 2024, bringing with her over 14 years of education, training, and experience.

Ms. Thorpe-Gilpin began her medical career as an RN at Cornwall Regional Hospital. She worked tirelessly for the next 10+ years, gaining valuable experience in areas such as Pediatrics with disabilities, LTAC, ICU, NICU, MICU, CICU, CVICU, IMU, wound care & pressure ulcers, home health care, neurology, life support, and many other areas of acute and chronic care medicine.

She is certified in many areas, including NIH, BLS, Advanced CLS, Nursing Preceptor, and Critical Care. She obtained her Master of Science in Nursing in 2021 and her doctorate degree in February 2024.

Wendy Sharp, FNP, is a dedicated family nurse practitioner serving patients throughout Cleveland and Humble, Texas. Ms. Sharp has been with the Calvary Medical Clinic team of providers since 2010, joining the practice and bringing with her over 16 years of education and training. Ms. Sharp boosts over 27 years of experience in the medical field.

Ms. Sharp obtained her Bachelor of Science in nursing at Houston Baptist University and went on to earn her Master of Science in nursing from Texas Women’s University in Houston, Texas. 

After beginning her medical career in the Home Healthcare field, Ms. Sharp furthered her work experience at two local Independent School Districts, where she cared for the acute medical incidents of children of all ages, as well as the adult staff and employees, under the title of director/district head nurse.

Shortly before joining Calvary, Ms. Sharp returned to the Home Healthcare field of medicine, where she cared for well over 100 patients and performed her positional duties as the supervising nurse case manager over the staff and employees.

She is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Eva Hinojosa, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant at Heights Dermatology in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Eva was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico, and moved to the Rio Grande Valley with her family at age 10. She graduated cum laude from St. Edwards University in Austin with a Bachelor’s in Biology in 2017. Eva received several academic scholarships throughout her academic career and maintained a position on the Dean’s List. After college, she spent her first postgraduate year working in the Emergency department and volunteering at rural clinics in Mexico and Peru. Eva then attained her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from The University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley. She is bilingual and motivated to help the Corpus Christi community in their skin needs. Eva’s interest in helping the community and passion for overall skin care is what drove her to pursue a field in dermatology; her interest was further motivated during her clinical rotations. Prior to her arrival at Heights Dermatology, Eva specialized in Internal Medicine in Mcallen, Texas. She is passionate about providing evidence-based care and enjoys staying up to date with new techniques and products out in the market. She prioritizes the importance of patient education and preventative medicine.

Eva received personal training in dermatology from Dr. Alpesh Desai, DO, and Dr. Tejas Desai, DO. She practices in the areas of general, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology. Eva is licensed by the Texas Medical Board and certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. In her free time, Eva enjoys exercising, spending time with her loved ones, and traveling.

Andrea Bowden, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant at Heights Dermatology in Tomball, Texas. She joined the practice in 2022

Andrea grew up in Round Rock, TX. She graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M University with her Bachelor of Science in Health. She then went on to receive her Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2017. Prior to completing her graduate studies, Andrea worked as a medical assistant in dermatology which motivated her to focus her sights on becoming a dermatology PA.

Prior to her arrival at Heights Dermatology, Andrea specialized in gastroenterology at UTMB in League City, TX. She has received personal training in dermatology from Dr. Alpesh Desai, DO, and Dr. Tejas Desai, DO. She practices in the areas of general, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology. Andrea has a passion for providing a positive bed-side manner to formulate a diagnosis. Her goal is to actively collaborate with her patients to come up with an effective treatment plan that works for each individual patient.

Andrea is licensed by the Texas Medical Board and certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Texas Association of Physician Assistants, and the Texas Gulf Coast PA Association. Elizabeth Finsness, or “Liza”, is a board-certified physician assistant at Heights Dermatology in Dallas, TX.

She graduated from University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She competed on UGA’s NCAA Equestrian team where she was named All-American four years, obtaining a National Championship and two SEC Championship titles. She earned her Master's in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Kentucky. Liza began her dermatology career in south Florida where she practiced general and surgical dermatology for 2 years before moving to Texas. She has since earned the title of Diplomate Fellow as a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

Being a native Floridian, Liza recognizes the importance of skin care and prevention of sun-related ailments. She is passionate about patient education and preventative medicine. I'm a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, who specializes in Internal Medicine and Family Practice. In 2008, I graduated with honors, from the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program from the University of Texas Medical Branch. While working in various intensive care units, I've completed my Master of Science in Nursing with a subspecialty in Family Practice. I am currently pursuing the Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center. For 8 years, I have worked primarily in Internal Medicine settings and am involved in the entire continuum of care of patients. I am an active member of several professional organizations including the American Association of Nurse Practitioners; Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing, and the Houston Area of Nurse Practitioners.

Patricia (Patty) Ringer is a Board-Certified Family Practice Nurse Practitioner from Wichita, KS. She graduated from Wichita State University most recently in 2008 with her Master of Science in Nursing. Ms. Ringer is happy to provide telehealth care to patients all over the US and Internationally. Haala Hai, DO, is board-certified in family medicine and sees patients of all ages. At Healthy Horizons Clinic in Pasadena, Texas, she hopes to treat her patients with utmost regard and care. 

Dr. Hai received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She then received her medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center-Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program in Houston, Texas. 

Her clinical interests include women's health, nutritional counseling, and preventive medicine. She also provides care for acute and chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension, anxiety/depression, and arthritis.
