Amir Kashani, MD, MS, FACC, is a well-trained cardiologist at Memorial Katy Cardiology Associates in Houston, Katy, and Sealy, Texas.
Dr. Kashani grew up in Houston, Texas, and attended Second Baptist Middle School and High School. He completed his Internal Medicine training at Rochester General Hospital through the University of Rochester School of Medicine in New York, where he also served as Chief Resident and Clinical Instructor. He attended Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut, for his cardiovascular and electrophysiology training. Dr. Kashani also trained in Interventional Cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Waco, Texas.
Throughout his career, Dr. Kashani has been heavily involved in clinical cardiovascular research. Amidst his over 30 publications, he has numerous collaborations with the TIMI Group, Harvard School of Medicine, and Yale School of Medicine, Section of Epidemiology and Public Health. He is an invited author of several books, and he has been invited to present his research both nationally and internationally. Dr. Kashani currently continues his academic interests as a Baylor College of Medicine teaching faculty.
Dr. Kashani remains active by enjoying a variety of sports. Also, he and his wife have a special interest in community service. Dr. Kashani is the President, Founder, and member of several charity organizations in Houston. One major focus of the charity organization that Dr. Kashani has established is providing health care to underprivileged children in Houston.
Ali El-Halwagi, MD, MPH, is double board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. He is dedicated to delivering compassionate, personalized care to every patient he serves. Dr. El-Halwagi graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. He then relocated to Houston to attend Baylor College of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree with honors. In addition, he holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Texas, reflecting his commitment to understanding and addressing the diverse needs of the community.
Dr. El-Halwagi completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, where he also served as chief resident. During this time, he gained valuable experience as a hospitalist at Ben Taub General Hospital and Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center. He went on to complete his fellowship in Rheumatology at Baylor College of Medicine.
Throughout his training, Dr. El-Halwagi has been recognized with multiple honors for his humanistic approach to medicine, dedication to teaching, and excellence in patient care. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He remains actively engaged with the American College of Rheumatology, participating in networking, conference planning, and ongoing professional development.
Dr. El-Halwagi is passionate about improving patient outcomes and building lasting relationships with his patients. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.
Dr. Mamillapalli is a compassionate cardiologist specializing in personal, evidence-based care with a passion for women’s health. She earned her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Connecticut, where she received the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Minnesota and served veterans at the Minneapolis VA Hospital before training in General and Interventional Cardiology at Northwell Health in New York, where she was Chief Fellow.
Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Medicine, she brings extensive expertise in cardiovascular procedures along with a strong focus on prevention and advocacy for women’s cardiovascular health. Patients value her empathy and patient-centered approach. Outside of medicine, she enjoys horseback riding, staying active, exploring Texas, and time with her family.
John Sunew, MD, FACC, FSCAI, is a skilled cardiologist at Memorial Katy Cardiology Associates in Houston, Katy, Cypress and Fulshear, Texas.
Dr. Sunew is triple-board-certified in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Disease, and Nuclear Cardiology. He is listed among Top Doctors 2015 in H Texas Magazine and Houstonia Magazine. He was born in Connecticut and grew up in New York state.
Dr. Sunew attended Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts, and went on to earn his medical degree at the State University of New York Health Science Center in Brooklyn, New York. He then completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at The George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, DC. He fulfilled his interventional cardiology fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois.
Before moving to Katy, Texas, Dr. Sunew practiced interventional cardiology for ten years in northern Virginia. He held many leadership roles with the Inova Health System, including Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Inova Alexandria Hospital and Chairman of the Inova Cardiology Quality Steering Committee. He was also Regional Leader for Northern Virginia in the Virginia Heart Attack Coalition. In addition, Dr. Sunew served as Assistant Professor for the Department of Internal Medicine, Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine Inova Campus. He was also involved in several clinical research trials and academic publications.
Dr. Sunew can offer the latest and most innovative treatments in cardiology, interventional cardiology, and peripheral vascular disease. He provides expertise in complex coronary angioplasty procedures, peripheral arterial angioplasty, and transradial cardiac catheterization. His non-invasive skills include transesophageal echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.
Allison Walworth, DO, is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician who joins Magnolia Family Medicine with years of experience. Dr. Walworth completed her internal medicine residency at Medical City Arlington in Arlington, TX and earned her medical degree from Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine in Las Cruces, NM.

Dr. Iyer brings with her a wealth of experience from having worked in different healthcare fields in California and Tennessee, such as emergency medicine, urgent care, hospice and palliative care, and geriatric and outpatient primary care—her personal passion.

Tess Chamakkala, DO, is excited to join the team at Endocrine and Psychiatry Center in Katy and Houston, Texas. As a skilled endocrinologist, Dr. Chamakkala is passionate about general adult endocrinology and managing conditions, including diabetes, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, and osteoporosis.
She completed her undergraduate studies at Fordham University in the Bronx neighborhood of New York City, New York, earning her Bachelor of Science in Biology. From there, she attended medical school at the New York Institute of Technology’s College of Osteopathic Medicine on Long Island. She underwent rigorous Internal Medicine residency training and later completed an Endocrinology fellowship through St. Luke’s University Health Network in Pennsylvania. She recently relocated to Texas.
