As a native Oregonian, Dr. Emrick has always known she wanted to become a physician and has long felt called to serve her home community. Her path was shaped in part by her mother’s cancer diagnosis, which highlighted both the life-saving role of conventional treatment and the importance of supporting long-term wellness. This experience inspired her to pursue naturopathic medicine, where she could focus on whole-person care and addressing the root causes of disease.
Dr. Emrick earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) and her Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, with a minor in Spanish, from Tulane University. Training in visceral manipulation deepened her understanding of how digestive dysfunction contributes to pain, while her personal experience with acne inspired her to address the gut-skin connection at its root.
Dr. Emrick approaches medicine with both scientific rigor and heartfelt compassion, believing that healing begins with listening deeply and partnering with patients on their health journey. She became a doctor because she loves science, but even more so, because she loves people. She is passionate about empowering her patients with education and supporting them in cultivating resilience and long-term wellness.
She lives in Portland with her husband, cat, and dog. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors and experiencing Portland’s vibrant food scene.
