Shelly R. Coe, MD, MSc, NCMP, is a UCLA-trained gynecologist and a certified menopause practitioner in Newport Beach, California. Dr. Coe takes an evidence-based approach to care, focusing on her patients’ physical and social wellbeing. She’s passionate about building trust, and partners with patients on their journey to meet their health and wellness goals. She provides expert care to women of all ages, including teens.  

Education

Dr. Coe received her bachelor’s degree from California State University, Fullerton and her medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. She remained at the UCLA Medical Center to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She was certified as a menopause practitioner by the North American Menopause Society in 2012. To further her education, Dr. Coe recently received her Master of Science in health policy from City, University of London in the UK, and has a dedicated interest in health care reform and public policy.

Personal

Dr. Coe was born and raised in Orange County, California until the age of 12 when she moved with her family to Montana. After graduating high school, she returned to Southern California where she–a first-generation college student–worked full-time to fund her education in the pursuit of becoming a physician. She has always been an avid athlete, paddling for 10 years on the Dana Point outrigger canoe team throughout her undergraduate education and running, swimming, and biking throughout medical school and residency. After finally mastering her chosen field of Obstetrics and Gynecology, she worked in private practice in Newport Beach, CA until her second child was born, after which she reduced her practice to surgery assisting in order to spend more time with her family. When her mother suffered a permanent spinal cord injury from a horse accident, she put her career on hold and moved to Montana to be near her parents. She raised her children between Whitefish, Montana and London, England. This time spent collecting adventures and memories with her children is priceless to her. With both children now in college, she was able to return to private practice in Newport Beach, CA to re-engage with her life-long passion and commitment to collaborating with women to meet their healthcare goals and live empowered lives. She has worked tirelessly towards her re-entry process and developing her private practice goals. She has survived many expected and unexpected transitions in life and overcoming these challenges has inspired her to be a brave advocate for empowering women to take charge of the factors that influence their health and overall wellness. She remains a devoted mom.

When she’s not improving her patients’ health, Dr. Coe channels her creative energy and desire to work with her hands into gardening, cooking, and drawing–she even started college as an art major! She would call herself a “foodie”, loves to perfect recipes, and enjoys learning about new cultures through food. Hello! I am Nidhee Sachdev, MD, a double board-certified and fellowship-trained reproductive endocrinologist and infertility expert.

I have had the opportunity to train at some of the most prestigious and diverse medical programs in the country, including fellowship training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the New York University (NYU) Langone Fertility Center in New York City, where I conducted research on preimplantation genetic screening (PGS). I also trained at the University of Chicago Medical Center, where I earned the academic distinction of academic chief resident in obstetrics and gynecology, and worked under a top expert in recurrent pregnancy loss.

I am passionate about providing individualized, collaborative patient care. I started my medical career here in Orange County, where I earned my Doctor of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine. I also completed my Bachelor of Science in human biology at the University of California, San Diego.

My research has been published in numerous respected publications, and I have received multiple teaching awards. I have also presented my research across the country. I am board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

After traveling across the country in recent years, I am thrilled to be back in Southern California, advocating for reproductive health and successful family building journeys for my patients. Dr. Clark has a passion for healing and for improved patient outcomes. He received his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. After completing residency, he further specialized by completing a Fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery ("Urogynecology") at Indiana University/Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

Dr. Clark is nationally recognized for his surgical skills and teaches advanced surgical techniques to other physicians throughout the United States. In 2008, he was invited by the Jordanian government to teach advanced gynecology surgery techniques to the Ministry of Health Gynecology Division. Salman Okour, MD, is a board-certified gynecologist specializing in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. 

At his private practice, Southern California Center for Advanced Gynecology, in Fountain Valley, California, Dr. Okour offers exceptional care and support to adolescent girls and women of all ages who are struggling with a wide range of gynecologic problems.

After graduating from the University of Baghdad in Baghdad, Iraq, Dr. Okour completed his OB/GYN residency at Saint Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey. During his residency, he was involved in the surgical training of senior residents.

Yonatan Mahller, MD, Ph.D., provides expert obstetric and gynecologic care to women of all ages at Orange County OBGYN in Orange County. Throughout his medical training, Dr. Mahller has won numerous awards recognizing his caring bedside manner and stellar surgical skills. While in graduate school, he performed significant preclinical research studies utilizing novel anticancer agents and authored numerous publications on topics such as cancer stem cells. He has given multiple presentations at international scientific meetings. During residency, Dr. Mahller created and implemented a course for OB/GYN residents, teaching them the Spanish needed to provide care to Spanish-speaking patients.

Dr. Mahller is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) to provide a wide range of women’s health services, including pregnancy care and delivery, gynecology, minimally invasive surgery, infertility and well-woman care. Jeremy Chang, MD, is an obstetrician and gynecologist at Orange County OBGYN. He is dedicated to providing top-quality women’s health care services to those living in Newport Beach, California, and the surrounding Orange County area.

Dr. Chang was born and raised in Southern California. He studied physiology at the University of California, Los Angeles, and obtained his medical degree from Tufts University in Boston. Dr. Chang then came back to UCLA to complete his residency in obstetrics and gynecology.

During residency, he developed an interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and gained invaluable experience in caring for high-risk pregnancies. Throughout his years in training, Dr. Chang conducted research on non-obstetric surgeries during pregnancy, as well as patient satisfaction with length of stay after surgery.

About Dr. Kim

Jamie Kim, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified OB/GYN and an accredited associate of the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute of America with a practice in Fountain Valley, California. Dr. Kim is one of only a handful of doctors in the United States with advanced training in aesthetic reconstructive vaginal surgery, and she is among only a few women in the state of California able to perform these surgeries.

In addition to restoring vaginal health, Dr. Kim is also an experienced surgeon, with 25 years in practice. She offers da Vinci® robotic surgery for the removal of fibroids, ovarian tumors, and endometrial tissue. Dr. Minal Mehta is a board-certified physician who specializes in the fields of obstetrics and gynecology.
