Todd Stearns embarked on his journey in the healthcare field after completing his service in the U.S. military. He initially worked in sales within the pharmaceutical industry. Concurrently, he dedicated his time as a volunteer, first as an orderly in a psychiatric care unit and later as a medical technician at a hospital in Washington D.C. During his sales visits, Stearns engaged in conversations with a variety of patients in waiting rooms. Born in Jamaica, Dr. Howard immigrated to the United States at 18. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Johns Hopkins University and his Doctor of Philosophy in Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland.
After earning his Ph.D., Dr. Howard completed a postdoctoral fellowship in perinatal epidemiology at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He returned to Baltimore, graduating with his Doctor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
