He completed his internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University in Chicago and was awarded a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of California Irvine.

Dr. Adashek has served in many hospital leadership positions and is currently the Director of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Summerlin Hospital Medical Center and Southern Hills Hospital. He is also an Associate Clinical Professor in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Nevada School of Medicine and serves as an instructor at Touro University.

Dr. Akiyama is double board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. After earning a Medical Degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, they completed an OB-GYN residency at the University of Nevada, Reno, followed by a specialized fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Hawaii.

With a background that includes a Master of Education, Dr. Akiyama prioritizes clear communication and patient education. They believe that helping families understand the "why" behind their care plan is essential to achieving the best possible health outcomes for both mother and baby.

Mary Khine, MD, FACOG, is a perinatologist at Desert Perinatal Associates in Las Vegas and Henderson, Nevada. Dr. Khine is one of the newest members to join the DPA family, and she is looking forward to building new relationships with families in the community. 

Dr. Khine is originally from New Jersey but she relocated to Nevada. She has decades of experience in providing care to families of all backgrounds and holds board certifications in maternal-fetal medicine, obstetrics, and gynecology.

For her medical education, she attended Jefferson Medical College. Following her studies, she went on to complete her obstetrics residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School, where she was awarded a fellowship with Yale University.  

While Dr. Khine was residing in New Jersey, she worked for a large hospital that specialized in maternal-fetal medicine for many years. During her time there, she also served on several committees and was the medical director of ultrasound services. 

At Desert Perinatal Associates, Dr. Khine takes great pride in caring for her patients and enjoys being a part of a very special time in a woman’s life. While being an exciting time, it’s also a nerve-wracking and anxious experience. She has a natural gift for finding calm in the storm and providing compassionate care that helps reassure her patients.  

Donald L. Roberts, MD, FACOG, has offered his expertise in perinatal care to women who have high-risk pregnancies for more than 20 years. He currently offers services at Desert Perinatal Associates with offices in Las Vegas and Henderson, Nevada. Board-certified in both maternal-fetal medicine and obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Roberts prides himself on offering excellent care so moms and babies achieve the best outcomes.

Dr. Roberts completed his bachelor of science degree at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. He earned his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine and practiced general obstetrics and gynecology in Las Vegas for two years before pursuing his passion in helping care for women with high-risk pregnancies. Dr. Roberts completed his fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of California San Diego where he was granted the resident teaching award.

Continuing with his award-winning teaching, Dr. Roberts gave lectures for medical students and residents during his time as Chairman of the OB/GYN Department at the University of Nevada School of Medicine and while serving as Chief of the Department of OB/GYN at UMC Hospital.

Dr. Roberts is active in research, lectures, and providing medical care to underserved areas of Las Vegas. He continues to teach residents and students as an assistant professor at the University of Nevada School of Medicine and Touro University.

Dr. Roberts is married to his wife, an OB/GYN, and has five wonderful children. He loves traveling, snow skiing, running, and time at the beach.

Paul T. Wilkes, MD, FACOG, offers expert perinatal care to women in the communities of Henderson and Las Vegas, Nevada, at Desert Perinatal Associates. He received his bachelor of arts degree from Pepperdine University and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Nevada School of Medicine, where he also performed post-graduate work in obstetrics and gynecology. Throughout his education, he received numerous awards and honors for academics and research.

Dr. Wilkes served as an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Nevada and as an Instructor/Fellow in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. He has been widely published in respected medical journals and regularly lectures nationally on perinatal topics.

Board-certified with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Dr. Wilkes also serves his community. He’s on the board of directors for two local foundations and donates his time and medical care to the women of Safe Nest and Shade Tree – local domestic violence shelters. He is the father of three and loves writing, CrossFit, and traveling.
