After relocating to New York, Dr. Chalian went through an internship at New York University Downtown Hospital. He then completed a top-rated obstetrics and gynecology residency and fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
Currently, Dr. Chalian is board-certified in gynecologic oncology and obstetrics and gynecology through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He’s also a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

He also served as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Nevada, Reno.
