This was followed by two fellowships: one for orthopedic surgery in sports medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama, and the other in trauma through the AO Trauma Exchange at the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
Dr. Martin has been practicing orthopedics since 2011. She has been a team physician for many high schools, colleges, and sports club teams, including the United States women’s national soccer team and Major League Soccer (MLS). Dr. Martin has also served as chair of the MLS Medical Symposium and education committee since 2012. She often helps run injury prevention workshops in conjunction with MLS to work on public service initiatives. Dr. Martin continues to stay active with the latest in her field as a curriculum developer and as a board test writer.
Dr. Martin was named Best Orthopedic Doctor by Nashville Fit Magazine in 2019. Her specialties include arthroscopic surgery of the knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, traumatic fracture care, traumatic injuries in the athlete, multiple ligament injuries in the knee, tibial plateau fractures, patellofemoral disorders, and articular injuries.
