Dr. Abrams also recognizes his impact on the community as a physician including combating the opioid epidemic by limiting the number of narcotic prescriptions available and taking an active role on local physician community boards. He focuses on providing good perioperative pain control while limiting the number of narcotic pain medications needed, using evidence-based, opioid-sparing pain control protocols.
In addition to his private practice in Asheville and Hendersonville, Dr. Abrams has taken part in medical aid and surgical training trips to the Dominican Republic, Thailand, and Nicaragua.
Dr. Abrams lives in the Asheville area with his wife and their two children. Outside of work, he continues to enjoy the sports he grew up playing like basketball and soccer. Since moving to the mountains he has also started exploring other hobbies such as hiking, paddle boarding, and has become an avid One Wheeler.
