A lifelong Hudson Valley resident, Dr. Longo attended Kingston High School and was an accomplished athlete in soccer, football, and wrestling. Before earning his medical degree from the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, he even won a Section IX Championship in wrestling.
He remained in Philadelphia to complete three years of residency training, including one year at Neumann Medical Center. Dr. Longo then returned to Kingston, New York, to serve as Chief Surgical Resident for the Podiatric Surgical Residency Program at Benedictine Hospital.
Dr. Longo became the first podiatrist to complete a surgical residency at Benedictine Hospital and has since become an attending surgeon. He has offered training to dozens of podiatrists who come to complete their surgical training in the very same program he helped trailblaze.
Dr. Longo dedicates his time and efforts to advancing youth sports in the Hudson Valley. He has organized, administrated, and coached lacrosse, soccer, and flag football and has tirelessly fundraised to ensure the success of the sports programs.
