Dr. Rowan Mahmoud has recently settled down in the Greater Philadelphia region. She is a New York native where she received her college and medical school education. She completed her residency at Mount Sinai Hospital where she evaluated and treated diverse pathology. She served as Chief resident and became Board Qualified, in foot and ankle surgery, during her final year at Mount Sinai. She specializes in all foot and ankle surgeries, such as hammertoes, bunions, flat feet, fractures, and deformities. She treats all ages. She is affiliated with Jefferson Hospital. On her free time, you can find Dr Rowan spending time with family, traveling, trying different restaurants and running. She is excited to serve her new community.

Dr. Sally Beshai is an experienced Podiatric Surgeon and has received numerous awards for her work. Dr. Beshai was trained by Dr. Edward Ferdinando, DPM at the Staten Island Hospital, and continued to gain experience through a long career in private practice. Dr. Beshai has also served in the Burn, Plastic, and Vascular Surgery departments at the Staten Island Hospital, as Chief Podiatric Surgical Resident.

Dr. Beshai has a special interest in diabetic wound care and the management of osteomyelitis and amputation prevention. In addition to her leadership skills and gentle bedside manner, Dr. Beshai is very eager to learn new treatments, techniques, and publications.

Dr. Mina Baskhron is a double board-certified foot and ankle podiatric surgeon. Dr Baskhron is a leader in private practice in New York since 2014. He has performed over five thousand podiatric surgical procedures including some of the most complicated congenital and acquired foot and ankle deformities. Dr. Baskhron is one of the few foot and ankle podiatric surgeons who completed a 4-year residency training focusing only on foot & ankle pathologies. Although Dr Baskhron's focus is on diabetic foot complications, limb salvage & reconstruction, he also treats various foot & ankle disorders, sports injuries, arthritis, flatfeet, bunion and hammer toes. Dr Baskhron completed his pre-medical education at Rutgers University, then he received his medical degree from NY college of Podiatric Medicine. He then completed 4-year Foot & Ankle surigcal residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, Richmond University Medical Center, and Northwell Plainview Hospital. Mina Beshai, DPM, is a board-certified podiatrist and surgeon at Forward Foot & Ankle Associates in Staten Island and Midtown Manhattan, New York. Dr. Beshai is committed to providing professional and patient-centered foot and ankle care for patients at every age. 

Dr. Beshai was raised in Staten Island, and he completed his bachelor’s degree in psychology, minoring in chemistry, within three years at the College of Staten Island. He relocated to Harlem to obtain his doctorate in podiatric medicine and surgery at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and the Foot Center of New York. 

He received extensive training in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center. After completing the program, he maintained a relationship with the clinic and is currently providing podiatric care for their pediatric department.  

Outside of his practice, Dr. Beshai enjoys walking with his two huskies and teaching them new skills. He also loves cruising on his motorcycle.

Innjea Park, DPM, FACPM, AACFAS is a board-certified podiatrist and surgeon at Forward Foot & Ankle Associates in Staten Island and Midtown Manhattan, New York. Dr. Park also specializes in foot and ankle care, including diabetes-related issues, wound care, sports medicine, and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Park is trilingual in English, Korean, and Japanese. He believes that all patients should be treated with respect, honesty, and professionalism.

Dr. Park attended New York University and obtained his bachelor’s degree in economics and pre-med, with a minor in East Asian studies, concentrating on the Japanese language. He then received a master’s in biomedical science at the Graduate School of Biomedical Studies at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He earned his doctor of podiatric medicine degree at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, where he also co-founded and led the school’s Asian American Podiatric Student Association.

Upon graduation, Dr. Park continued to hone his skills during a three-year surgical residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, where he served as chief resident during his third year. During this residency, he obtained experience in areas including emergency medicine, foot trauma, pediatric podiatry, vascular surgery, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, and infectious diseases.

Dr. Park is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, and the New York State Podiatric Medical Association. He also has been published in professional medical journals.

Dr. Marianne Lants is part of Huguenot Podiatry Group PC, a practice that offers comprehensive foot and ankle care. Dr. Lants is Board Certified in Podiatric Medicine by ABPM and Board Certified in prevention and treatment of diabetic foot wounds by ABMSP. She provides state of the art care for various foot conditions such as sports injuries, arthritis, flatfeet, bunions hammer toes, nail disorders and diabetic foot care. Dr. Lants attended Long Island University and graduated Hunger College in NYC with BA in Biology. She completed her medical education at New York College of Podiatric medicine in 2004 with a degree of Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. He’s extensively trained in a wide array of foot and ankle pathologies and specializes in conservative and surgical treatment options, including trauma and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Corbin completed the revered podiatric residency program at Hoboken University Medical Center in New Jersey, serving as chief resident. He then went on to serve as the podiatry section chief at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield, New Jersey, working in the role for over eight years until the hospital closed.

It has been over 25 years since Dr. Corbin joined Garden State Foot & Ankle Specialists, and during this time, he has served on the podiatric residency committee at two of the top programs in New Jersey at Morristown Medical Center and Hoboken University Medical Center. He’s also a staff member several local surgery centers, including Hackensack Meridian Health JFK Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey, and Overlook Medical Center in Summit, New Jersey.

Samantha Sheppard, DPM, is a board-certified podiatrist at Garden State Foot & Ankle Specialists, which has six convenient locations: Edison, Woodbridge, Plainfield, Scotch Plains, Springfield, and Linden, New Jersey. She’s highly skilled in treating all foot and ankle pathologies with both surgical and conservative treatments. 

Dr. Sheppard graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, with a dual bachelor’s degree in biology and Italian studies. She earned her medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City, graduating at the top of her class.

Dr. Sheppard went on to complete her surgical training at the Atlantic Health System’s Morristown Medical Center in New Jersey. She served as the chief resident in her third year and developed an impressive proficiency with a variety of surgical procedures, including foot and ankle trauma, diabetic Charcot reconstruction and limb salvage, flatfoot reconstruction, application of external fixation devices, ankle arthroscopy, and all forefoot pathologies.

After graduating in 2008 from Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City, New Jersey, with a  Bachelor of Science in biology, Dr. Paternina enrolled in Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia. In 2014, she graduated in the top 5% of her class and completed her residency at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, a Level II trauma center. 

During her time as a resident, Dr. Paternina received comprehensive training in reconstructive surgery of complex foot and ankle deformities, including foot and ankle joint replacement, flatfoot, trauma, limb salvage, and advanced training techniques in treating difficult wounds. Her surgical abilities were so impressive that she earned the title of chief resident during her final year.

In addition to her surgical abilities, Dr. Paternina’s areas of expertise include pediatrics, sports medicine, arthroscopy, cartilage transplantation, plastic surgery, dermatology, and general foot care. She is passionate about education and has devoted her time to lectures and medical studies, both nationally and internationally. With a deep respect for medical missions that help underserved communities, Dr. Paternina often donates her time and expertise to various nonprofit endeavors. She is also affiliated with Meridian Healthcare System. 

When she is not working with her patients, Dr. Paternina enjoys traveling to new places, cycling, Zumba, kayaking, watching movies, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Teddy Efkarpides received his BA degree from Queens College in 1983 and his medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 1987.

He has been serving the community for over 30 years, is board certified in foot surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Dr. Shazia Amar is not just a foot doctor, NYC podiatrist Dr. Amar is a people person whose primary goal is to help patients get better. Despite her busy schedule, Dr. Shazia Amar makes each individual feel as if they are her only patient, even though they clearly are not. Dr. Amar began her medical career doing research for a pathologist. A biochemistry and chemistry major in college, she considered becoming a pediatrician before she discovered podiatry and decided to become a foot doctor. NYC seemed the logical place to study and start her practice.

Shazia Amar was motivated to become a foot doctor in NYC when her grandmother visited became ill and was taken to the hospital. Her grandmother didn’t speak any English, and was understandably anxious about being sick so far from home. Dr. Amar was struck by the physician’s warmth and compassion, and his ability to quickly alleviate her grandmother’s concerns, despite the fact that they didn’t speak the same language.

Dr. Shazia Amar believes that being a doctor is not just about medical expertise because compassion and understanding are an integral part of the healing process.

When not taking care of patients, Dr. Amar enjoys cooking, traveling, jogging and working out at the gym. An avid movie buff, she loves action flicks and thrillers. She is looking forward to returning to her cardio-boxing class as time permits.
