Dr. Shah attended Syracuse University for her undergraduate education. Dr. Mariola Rivera attended undergraduate school at University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez. She went to medical school with a Doctor in Podiatric Medicine degree from New York College of Podiatric Medicine.  Her post-graduate surgical training was completed at Bellevue Hospital, a number one trauma center in New York city.
