Bio: Veda is from Charleston, WV. She attended The George Washington University here in DC where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in biology, summa cum laude. She received the GWU Presidential Scholarship for Academic Excellence. After college, she worked as a research assistant, extern, learning assistant and front desk agent for Holiday Inn. She earned her medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine – Charleston. She has hosted many events including various fairs, festivals and show for school events, as well as fundraisers for organizations such as Make-A-Wish. She has recently volunteered at the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hobbies: Traveling, foodie, visiting amusement parks (has been to 7/10 of the tallest roller coasters in the world), watching the big four award shows every year and collecting the Time’s 100 most influential People each year
Dr. Geoca entered medicine with the simple purpose of wanting to help others, gain understanding about the human experience, and both hear and honor others’ stories. She attended George Washington University (GWU) for undergraduate studies, earning a double major in philosophy and biology as well as a minor in performance jazz, and then stayed at GWU for medical school. Currently, Dr. Geoca is a third year psychiatry resident at Saint Elizabeths Hospital.
Along the way, Dr. Geoca has also been involved in multiple research projects and publications, created and lead humanities-focused groups in medical school, attended yoga teacher training, been awarded multiple scholarships for academic excellence, and even published a poem. She was recently elected to serve as one of two resident members on the Washington Psychiatric Society Board, DC’s chapter of the American Psychiatric Association (APA). Throughout it all, she has remained committed to her own psychotherapeutic journey and benefitted immensely from this dedication to prioritizing her own mental health.
In her free time Dr. Geoca enjoys playing piano, synth, and bass, as well as drawing and painting. She loves writing, and is working towards publishing both fiction and non-fiction books.
Dr. Ernesto Henderson is a double board-certified psychiatrist in general psychiatry and child & adolescent psychiatry, and founder/CEO of Finding Balance DO, LLC, in New York. He specializes in comprehensive care for children and adults, treating ADHD, depression, anxiety, and more. As an osteopathic physician, he also offers Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT) for a holistic approach. Born in Fort Washington, MD, he studied at the University of Iowa and earned his DO at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine. He trained at HMH Palisades (internship), St. Elizabeths Hospital (residency), and SUNY Downstate (fellowship). In 2025, he became Unit Chief of the First Break Psychosis Unit at Kings County Hospital and faculty at SUNY Downstate, with an upcoming role at Maimonides. He previously held privileges at NYP Brooklyn Methodist and taught at Weill Cornell. Oko Akrong, PMHNP-BC, RN, MSN, is passionate about caring for patients. As a veteran, he knows first hand the effects of mental illness and how it negatively affects qualifications of life. His focus is to provide relief and help patients live their best lives. He is licensed in D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia servicing the whole DMV area.
Oko Akrong received his PMHNP from Regis College. He works with adolescents and adults struggling with depression, ADHD, behavioral issues, PTSD, psychotic disorders, and more.
During treatment, Oko uses a client-centered solution-focused approach to provide the best possible care. He believes good communication and active listening leads to the best solution, and he uses these skills to help patients move forward in life. He believes hold heartedly that the relationship he has with his patients is one of a navigator whose job it is to use his skills, knowledge and education to create a clear cut path to the patients happiness.
