William is a Licensed Professional Counselor -Associate, he brings several years of knowledge and experience to the HHS team. He has worked for almost a decade providing mental health services for adolescents and adults. He holds a Bachelor’s degree, Summa Cum Laude, in psychology, with concentration in clinical counseling. He also has a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Albertus Magnus College. Presently, he is a doctoral candidate for Forensic Psychology at Walden University.
William provides group, couples, family, and individual therapy to children, teens, and adults at HHS. William’s focus is helping and transforming clients who have anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, SUD, and addiction based disorders. He is passionate about helping and working with clients within the LGBTQ+ community.
Apart from his clinical experience, William had done research work on ADHD, psycho-somatic disorders and eating disorders. He has led several research teams at the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Association for Psychological Science (APS), while at Fielding University. William is adept at helping clients dealing with several kinds of mental health challenges, including mood, behavioral, and personality issues, as well as substance abuse. William uses the following treatment modalities in this therapy: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, along with other other Person-Centered approaches. He posits that one of the keys to successful therapy is building and maintaining the therapeutic relationship and alliance. To that end, he will ensure that his clients feel safe at all times, while in therapy. His clinical approach is rooted in the healing power of self-discovery and self acceptance.
He postulates that hope is important and that he must always have hope for the client even at times when they feel like giving up.
William spends a lot of his spare time in community service, and has done extensive travel to several parts of the world to inspire positivity and optimism to those in need. His hobbies include, chess, swimming, and basketball. He currently swims with the USA Masters swim team in Shelton CT.
