Michael Banov, MD, leads the team of board-certified psychiatrists and fellowship-trained advanced practice registered nurses (APRN) who provide comprehensive adult psychiatric services for conditions including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder, as well as addiction.

The team of experienced mental health clinicians at Psych Atlanta are familiar with traditional treatments for most conditions as well as the cutting-edge psychiatric developments for complex and difficult to treat cases.

For example, in addition to providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and personalized treatment plans that take a holistic approach, Psych Atlanta offers Nuerostar TMS and innovative ketamine therapy, including ketamine infusion therapy, oral ketamine, and Spravato® — an intranasal ketamine spray. Thashi Uppalapati, MD is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist with expertise in treating children, adolescents, and adults. Her areas of interest include holistic and integrative psychiatry, nutritional psychiatry, trauma-focused care, and pediatric psychiatry.

She completed her Adult Psychiatry residency at Larkin Community Hospital, and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at Medical College of Georgia. In recognition of her dedication to patient care, she was named among America’s Best Doctors 2025. 

Dr. Uppalapati emphasizes a holistic approach to care within a compassionate, patient-centered framework. She believes in building strong therapeutic relationships and supporting patients in all aspects of their mental health and overall well-being.

Outside of work, Dr. Uppalapati enjoys chess, racquetball, reading, and traveling.

Dr. Rodrigo Falcao has almost 20 years of clinical experience in Psychiatry. He strongly believes that psychiatric treatment goes beyond medication prescription only, and emphasizes the importance of patient-doctor relationship in his approach. Dr. Falcao likes to collaborate with his patients and takes the necessary time to listen to them, provide support and educate about psychiatric illnesses. He thoroughly discusses treatment plan with his patients, including target symptoms, treatment options, diagnosis, analyzes risks and benefits of specific approaches, with the goal to achieve relief/improvement of symptoms and long term remission. He understands that everyone’s needs are different, and tries to tailor his approach to each individual need. 
 
Dr Falcao completed a two year residency program in Psychiatry in Brazil, at the Institute of Psychiatry of University Federal Rio de Janeiro (IPUB) in 2005. Upon the end of his training he practiced Psychiatry for 2 years in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in several different settings and performed diverse clinical roles. He then moved to the US where he had his second Psychiatry Residency training at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami Miller School. 
 
Dr. Falcao has worked for 6 years, in Community Mental Health settings providing services to Springfield/ Holyoke community, in Massachusetts. He provided care to an extensive Hispanic population in that area, (most of the individuals were originally from Puerto Rico). 
For the past 5 years, Dr Falcao has provided medication management outpatient care in different locations in Atlanta, Georgia area and TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) for patients with Treatment Resistant Depression.
 
Dr. Falcao has experience treating adults with a variety of psychiatric conditions, including Depressive and Anxiety Disorders, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia. 

Dr. Vasy is a Board-certified psychiatrist. He completed his undergraduate degree at Keuka College and attended St. George’s University School of Medicine, where he earned his MD degree and graduated with summa cum laude distinction. Prior to joining Psych Atlanta, he worked at Ohio State University, serving as a staff psychiatrist at the student mental health clinic.

Reflecting on his experience, Dr. Vasy shares: “I had the privilege of completing my psychiatry residency training at Metropolitan Hospital (New York Medical College) in New York City. At 'Metro,' I gained invaluable experiences while serving New York City's diverse patient population in various clinical settings, including the psychiatric emergency room, adult and pediatric inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, and addiction medicine. This training equipped me with the skills and knowledge to manage a wide range of acute and chronic psychiatric conditions. It also deepened my awareness of the vast array of mental health issues and their impact, not only on individuals but also on their families and, in some cases, entire communities.

Providing appropriate treatment that improves a patient's condition creates a ripple effect, bringing healing and benefits that extend far beyond the individual. Being part of this ripple effect is a deeply fulfilling experience, and I take great pride in my role working with individuals facing mental health challenges.

In addition to my primary responsibilities during residency, I was actively involved in the education and mentorship of medical students and junior residents, and I participated in clinical research.

Dr. Ram is a passionate psychiatrist who strives for total wellness using evidence-based treatments with collaborative and integrative approaches to mind-body medicine. His style is nonjudgmental, building a trusting relationship, accepting the client as is, and working towards intrinsic change. He believes that caring for the patient is the secret to care. Dr. Ram is a board-certified psychiatrist. After graduating from medical school, he completed his initial psychiatric training in Scotland. Dr. Ram obtained esteemed membership in the Royal College of Psychiatrists, London. He briefly worked as a consultant psychiatrist in London before moving to America. Dr. Ram is board-certified in addiction medicine and has exceptionally high success rates in treating addiction. Dr. Ram is a fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Ram has completed a master's in Ayurveda and is currently board-certified in integrative medicine.

Sahar Khan, MMS, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant specializing in psychiatry at Sage Psychiatric Professionals. She provides compassionate, patient-centered mental health care to children, adolescents, adults, and older adults throughout Georgia through telepsychiatry. Sahar earned her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Mercer University and has experience across child, adult, and geriatric psychiatry. Her clinical interests include ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders, womens mental health, including peripartum, postpartum, and perimenopausal concerns, and personalized psychiatric medication management. Sahar takes a thoughtful, holistic, and collaborative approach to care. Bhargav Patel, MD, is a nationally recognized psychiatrist specializing in child, adolescent, and adult mental health at Sage Psychiatric Professionals. He completed a research-track fellowship at Brown University and a psychiatry residency at the Medical College of Georgia, earning multiple academic and national honors. Dr. Patel provides patient-centered, trauma-informed psychiatric care for ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and other mental health conditions. A published researcher with more than 20 scientific publications, Dr. Patels work has included ADHD, sleep, PTSD, bipolar disorder, trauma, and resilience. Megan Earnesty, PA-C, is a psychiatric physician associate at Sage Psychiatric Professionals providing compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care through telepsychiatry across Georgia. Megan has extensive experience in psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and caring for a range of mental health concerns.
