She began her career at John Peter Smith hospital as an RN in the Psychiatric Emergency Center and has additional experience in critical care and the emergency department. Over the years, she has worked with many diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and personality disorders. Bri is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and enjoys giving back to the community that she is a part of. She offers secular, evidenced based treatment and is passionate about helping others. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her children.
Akunna is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She started her career working as a registered nurse and has over 20 years of experience in specialties such as med-surg, home care and orthopedic care in addition to psychiatry. Akunna received her Master’s of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing and her Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatry and Mental Health from Regis College, Boston Massachusetts. Akunna has a passion rooted in bringing mental health care to those in need of support from a warm, empathetic, and compassionate provider. Dr. Medhat Guirguis obtained his medical diploma from Ain Shams University, Egypt. He completed his psychiatry residency training at Texas Tech University Health Science Center (TTUHSC), Lubbock, and for fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX, where he received fellowship training in Geriatric Psychiatry.
Dr. Guirguis has been a psychiatrist for more than ten years. He has worked in different clinical settings and held various administrative positions include the medical director of the geriatric unit at Terrell State Hospital and the Clerkship Director of psychiatry at TTUHSC.
Dr. Guirguis is Board certified in Adult General Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry.
