Following residency, Dr. Choudhury pursued advanced fellowship training in vascular neurology at the University of Texas at Austin, Dell Medical School, where he received specialized training in the management of acute and chronic vascular conditions of the brain, including strokes, transient ischemic attacks, and other cerebrovascular disorders.
A key focus of Dr. Choudhury's clinical practice is the use of advanced imaging techniques, particularly MRI-based modalities, to identify, detect, and treat stroke at the earliest stages. Dr. Azin Azma is a board certified neurologist and clinical neurophysiologist. Dr. Azma has been providing exceptional care to the Las Vegas community for almost a decade. She has been recognized by her patients and peers as a top physician numerous times.
Dr. Azma graduated with honors and summa cum laude with a degree in Economics and pre-medicine from the University of Kansas in 2004. She went on to attend the University of Kansas School of Medicine, graduating in 2008 with her medical degree. Dr. Azma completed her Neurology residency and Clinical Neurology fellowship at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, working with many of the top neurologists during her training.
After relocating to Las Vegas in 2013, Dr. Azma has been a physician at MountainView Hospital for the past ten years. She has been the Chair of Neurology and Stroke Director at MountainView since 2013. Robert W. Balsiger, DO, is a local board-certified neurologist at Las Vegas Neurology Center. He has resided in Las Vegas, Nevada, since 2006. He has strong ties to the Midwest growing up in Minnesota and Ohio.
Dr. Balsiger attended The Ohio State University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise physiology. He was active in the community in Columbus, Ohio, and on campus at The Ohio State University. While a full time student, he obtained a personal training certificate and was involved in geriatric exercise prescription. Dr. Balsiger was on the Dean’s List each year he attended The Ohio State University.
Following his undergraduate degree, Dr. Balsiger relocated to Henderson, Nevada. There he attended Touro University Nevada and obtained his medical degree. He was also on the Dean’s List at Touro University Nevada. He immediately recognized a need for physicians in the community. Thus, he continued his training in Las Vegas, Nevada, completing a 4 year neurology residency at Valley Hospital Medical Center.
Upon completion of residency, Dr. Balsiger continues to serve the community here in Las Vegas. He is the stroke director and director of neurology at Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center. He also has a strong passion for academic medicine. He is part of the core faculty for the neurology residency at Valley Hospital Medical Center, a member of the Graduate Medical Education Committee at Valley Hospital Medical Center, and adjunct faculty for Touro University Nevada. He enjoys spending time teaching residents and medical students in an inpatient and outpatient setting. Dr. Balsiger also provides weekly neurology board examination review and neurology lectures for the neurology residents.
Aside from practicing neurology, Dr. Balsiger enjoys weight training, watching movies and traveling.
