Over my career I have had the fortune of working to help others in many capacities. As the medical director of the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team, I had the rare experience of evaluating individuals in their own home and mitigating crisis. As an emergency psychiatric provider, I have worked with patients in their most challenging moments. As a program director of an inpatient psychiatric hospital, I was able to manage a patient from crisis to stabilization.

Funmi Akinrimisi is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She completed her undergraduate degree in Nursing at Texas Tech University and completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University. Before working in the NP role, Funmi has several years of experience in medical-surgical /Pediatric but specifically 10 years of experience in geriatric, adult, and child Psychiatry nursing.
Her passion for psychiatry nursing led her to pursue her master's in Psychiatry Nursing. Funmi believes in a holistic approach towards treatment and aims to address contributing factors leading to less than optimal life quality for her patients. Kaeside is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse practitioner who graduated from University of Texas Health Science Center Houston with experience working with patients across all life span. He also completed other volunteer projects with the Houston Food Bank, MD Anderson Leukemia clinic and also Vallbona Harris health clinic. Kaeside worked at Ben Taub General Hospital in a medical psychiatric department for 3 years where he was able to manage and treat patients with dual psychiatric medical diagnosis. By employing active listening during client interactions, my clients are actively involved in their plan of care. My experience working with patients with a dual diagnosis (psychiatric and medical) makes it easy to treat the patient using a holistic approach. I also incorporate psychotherapy which is effective when combined with psychopharmacology.
