After working in the intensive care arena for 18 years, she found that her interest changing from caring for the physically wounded person to caring for the emotional wounds of her patients and their family. She obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University. She holds certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. She has been an instructor of Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Fundamentals of Critical Care Medicine. She is passionately interested in the study of addiction in all forms, both substance and process addictions and the underlying processes that drive these addictions.

My name is Alice Bernet and I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Health and Wellness Coach. I have over 20 years of experience working with individuals who have anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, trauma, and substance use.
My broad training allows me to apply a whole person approach to psychiatric treatment and therapy. I specialize in psychotropic medication management with a motivational approach to problem solving and behavior change.
In our first session, you will quickly come to know me as a curious practitioner who is eager to demystify psychiatric conditions and treatments. I want to hear the story of what led you to our first appointment together. I'll ask lots of questions to refine a diagnostic picture and invite you to collaborate on an individualized treatment plan.
