Dr. Sarah Yao is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner specialized in managing the mental health needs of patients across the lifespan (ages 6 and up). Over the years, Dr. Yao has worked in both inpatient and outpatient mental health managing the emotional and mental health needs of a variety of patients. She had the privilege of managing the mental health needs of our veteran population at the Las Vegas VA Hospital for more than a decade as a student volunteer and eventually a nurse practitioner on the inpatient mental health unit. In her transition to private practice, Dr. Yao provides care in a psychiatric residential treatment facility for adolescents and teens as well as outpatient services at Meadows Psychiatry.
Dr. Yao is very passionate about investing in the lives of others through teaching and has precepted several nurse practitioner students as well as serve as part time faculty for a nurse practitioner program.

Dr. Mayes has been working in healthcare for over 13 years, which started in northwest Wyoming near the homestead of her maternal family. She began working with adolescents in a behavior modification program & volunteered with a local free clinic while pursuing her undergraduate degree. As an RN, she lived on an American Indian reservation for over a year helping to provide critical access care, including labor & delivery, outpatient surgery & infusion, & emergency intervention for medical & mental crises. Dr. Mayes discovered a deep love for emergency & mental health care, & decided to continue her education through VCU's PMHNP program & a DNP degree from Augusta University. She continued working in ERs until returning to her hometown of Houston, where she earned a reputation for being a psychiatric provider with a wide skill set & an easy rapport. In 2019, she relocated to the Las Vegas area to open her private practice & meet a growing need for high quality psychiatric care.
