The foundational attitude and approach I bring to each time we meet is what I like to call 'therapeutic presence.'
The idea is not mine. My introduction to the practice of therapeutic presence came by wedding my natural gifts with hard work to finish degrees and residencies. These academic and clinical introductions occurred while I studied at multiple universities that awarded me degrees and/or post-licensure certificates. Some of my alma maters are the University of Texas at Arlington, Valparaiso University, Concordia College/University, St. John’s University-Seminary (MN.), the University of Missouri at Kansas City, the University of California at San Francisco.
Concurrent with studies and subsequent ranked professorial appointments over twenty years, I maintained an active clinical practice at least eight hours weekly and often more. I place high value in the knowledge I have acquired 'on the job.' Often the ones who teach me most are those who seek my care.
I am a patient-focused Foreign Physician and now Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the USA with many years of successful experience in Mental Health Disorders, implementing the best diagnosis, education, and treatment criteria available to cure or alleviate Mental Health suffering, focusing on providing high-quality personal levels of healthcare to patients to achieve the desired outcome. I speak 3 languages (English, Spanish and Portuguese) and have a lot of experience attending patients with different cultural background.

“I was hesitant to reach out, not because I have not seen a psychiatrist before but because I have been on several different medications and was beginning to think that this was "just me". That I would feel like this.. forever. Mrs. Robinson (Jill) was very open to hearing me and my frustrations. She was encouraging and I decided to take a leap. I am so glad that I did. I feel like my old self again. Pre menopause, pre work stress and kids. I cannot thank her enough.”

“Dr. Jason Cohen has been a Godsend. This is my first foray ever into psychiatric medicine and I was scared at my first appointment at how a medication would impact my ability to function. I've heard many horror stories over the years about various medications, etc. However, Dr. Cohen was superb and patient during my first visit. I decided to start the med he prescribed and he nailed it on the first try! Right med and good dosage. I began to benefit starting in the first 48 hours. So grateful!”
