Joshua D. Feder, M.D., is an experienced and compassionate psychiatrist serving children, adults, and families in and around Solana Beach, California. With more than three decades of experience, Dr. Feder is board-certified in general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Feder earned his undergraduate degree in mathematics at Boston University then completed his medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine. He served his internship and psychiatry residency at the Naval Hospital in San Diego. Dr. Feder is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and has been awarded a wide range of accolades and awards for both his medical practice and service in the United States Navy.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Feder recently authored the highly acclaimed Child Medication Fact Book for Psychiatric Practice. and serves as Editor-in-Chief at Carlat Child Psychiatry Report. He actively volunteers to support communities affected by armed conflict, including the Middle East, Northern Ireland, Ukraine, and the Balkans. Dr. Feder’s teaching and research includes the University of California San Diego School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry, San Diego State University, Fielding Graduate University School of Psychology Infant and Early Childhood Development Program, and An Najah National University in Nablus.
