I am a graduate of the internationally renowned McLean Hospital of Harvard Medical School, and possess additional specialty training in geriatric psychiatry from the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington School of Medicine, Seattle, WA.
I approach my work from an existential and humanistic perspective that attempts to integrate the biological, developmental, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of your life experience. With nearly 30 years of clinical, research, and teaching experience at some of the finest institutions in the country, I believe firmly that best outcomes are achieved through a combination of talk therapy (psychotherapy) and psychoactive medications (psychopharmacology). Unlike most practices, the duration and frequency of your visits will solely be determined by the appropriate level of clinical care required, not insurance payment considerations. The initial visit (and more, if needed) will be purely consultative.
