She had a long career with the fire department, where she retired as a Lieutenant. She has been a Nurse Practitioner since 2020 and has specialized in integrative and functional medicine. Erin is excited to be a part of the South Lake Pain Institute family, as she knows the focus here is holistic and patient centered. Erin is also a mom and grandma, loves everything outdoors, and describes her happy place as the woods. She is a Christian and is active in her home church.

Dr. Gisela Vargas is a Board-Certified Family Medicine physician, with 20 years of experience as a practicing family Practitioner in the state of Florida. Dr. Vargas is the lead primary care physician at Health First Primary Care Medical Centers. She specializes in taking care of the medical needs of seniors.

I have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology from Queens College and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York Institute of Technology. I have trained in Family Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center and hold additional qualification certifications in Hospital Medicine, Aerospace Medicine and Critical Care Aerial Transport.
I have a 17-year Reserve Military service history with the United States Air Force having served as a Pararescue Flight Surgeon and Critical Care Transport Doctor, and have also served as a Rescue Flight Surgeon for the NASA Space Shuttle Program. I currently hold privileges at Advent Health Hospitals in the Orlando region.
