Asim Khawaja, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician practicing at CareOne Internal Medicine and Primary Care. Dr. Khawaja offers high-quality, patient-centered care to those in and around Houston and Katy, Texas.
Dr. Khawaja completed his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine in Bridgetown, Barbados, in 2012. In 2015, he completed his residency program in internal medicine at Allegheny University Hospital in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, through the Allegheny University of Health Sciences, now affiliated with Drexel University College of Medicine. After finishing his residency, he worked as a traveling physician for two years, and recently relocated back to the Houston area to join the team at CareOne. In addition to serving patients at CareOne, Dr. Khawaja is affiliated with Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital and Houston Methodist West Hospital.
When he’s not practicing medicine, Dr. Khawaja is a motorsports enthusiast, an avid skier, and enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
Mubarak Khawaja, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician with training in pulmonary medicine, and has over 30 years of experience in acute and chronic health care management. He currently practices at CareOne Internal Medicine and Primary Care, and aims to provide compassionate, high-quality care for all patients in and around Houston and Katy, Texas.
Dr. Khawaja received his medical degree from Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences in Sindh, Pakistan, in 1987. In 1994, he completed his residency in internal medicine at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, through the Medical College of Pennsylvania, now known as Drexel University College of Medicine, where he also served as chief resident in 1995. General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, also through Allegheny University of Health Sciences (now part of Drexel University College of Medicine) in 1997.
After his training, Dr. Khawaja served as a Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Family Medicine at the University of New Mexico for seven years. He then relocated to Katy, Texas, in 2006. Dr. Khawaja is affiliated with Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital and Methodist West Houston Hospital. He is a member of the Texas Medical Association, the Harris County Medical Society, and the American College of Physicians. To better serve more patients in his community, Dr. Khawaja is fluent in Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, and Gujarati.
Dr. Khawaja currently lives in Sugar Land, Texas, with his wife Sakina, and their two children. In his spare time, he enjoys philanthropy and traveling.
Dr. Mukesh Sinha is a native Houstonian and completed his undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University in 2000. He is a 2004 graduate of The University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, TX. After his graduation, he relocated to Rochester, Minnesota, where he received his training in Internal Medicine at the internationally renowned Mayo Clinic. He remained at Mayo Clinic to complete his fellowship in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension. During his fellowship he published several manuscripts and was appointed as Instructor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine. He was honored with the Clinical Fellow of the Year Award for academic year 2009-2010. He joined Renal Clinic of Houston in 2010.
Dr. Sinha has his medical license in Minnesota and Texas. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, American Society of Nephrology and Renal Physicians Association.
Dr. Sinha is board certified by American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) as a Diplomate in Nephrology.
