Alina Fuchs MD MBS BS has obstetrics and gynecology and medicine in her genes. Her aunt Dr. Smekuna was the delivering OB/Gyn with her birth. Her uncle Dr. M Fuks and Dr. A. Fuks are both practicing physicians, her mother Dr. M Fuchs is a dentist. And her husband Dr. Alexeev is a current pain management fellow.

Jen Wilen saw her first birth as a Peace Corps Volunteer in West Africa nearly 20 years ago and knew then that she wanted to become a midwife. After the Peace Corps, Jen got her Masters in Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She then spent a decade working in global health and women's rights, spending much of that time overseas. She later obtained both her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and her Masters in Midwifery from Columbia University.
