Dr. Hawkins graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics and Minor in Spanish from the University of Georgia in Athens. She earned her Master of Science in Preclinical Sciences degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon. She then completed her medical degree at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwannee. Dr. Hawkins moved to Orlando, Florida to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Central Florida. While in residency, Dr. Hawkins servedas the academic chief resident, was awarded the AAGL Recognition of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology, and was recognized as a CREOG Scholar for demonstrating excellence in medical knowledge.

Dr. Hawkins is dedicated to providing compassionate patient-centered care to all her patients. Jana Dopson Illston, MD, is a board-certified OB/GYN and urogynecologist serving patients at North Atlanta Ob/Gyn, which has locations in Alpharetta, Marietta, and Atlanta, Georgia.
