He completed his medicine internship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and a rigorous ophthalmology residency at the Downstate Medical Center in New York City. 

To further advance his training, Dr. Joseph accepted a surgical glaucoma fellowship at Harvard Medical School’s Massachusetts Eye and Ear and Massachusetts General Hospital. He was trained in the full array of interventional glaucoma, including both office-based laser treatments, surgical laser therapies, and traditional major glaucoma surgery. During his fellowship, he was also mentored by renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Mark Latina, a pioneer in medical lasers and the inventor of selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT).
