He was trained in the full array of interventional glaucoma, including both office-based laser treatments, surgical laser therapies, and traditional major glaucoma surgery. During his fellowship, he was also mentored by renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Mark Latina, a pioneer in medical lasers and the inventor of selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT). Ashwinee Ragam, MD is board-certified and a corneal fellowship-trained ophthalmologist.

Dr. Ragam graduated summa cum laude from The College of New Jersey. She was accepted to the competitive, accelerated, seven-year BS/MD program at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where she finished at the top of her class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She then completed an ophthalmology residency as well as corneal subspecialty fellowship at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York City. She was selected by her peers and mentors to become Chief Resident.
