He then attended Optometry school at Southern College of Optometry. He also completed externship programs in private practice in Portsmouth , NH and at the Ralph Johnson VA in Charleston, SC. She completed her BS at Oregon State University before graduating with her doctorate at Midwestern Unviversity's Arizona College of Optometry.  Dr. Van Volkenburg is originally from Roseburg, so she is happy to be practicing back in her hometown and supporting the community that helped raise her.
