David J. Fuerst, MD is an experienced, board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract, corneal, and refractive surgery at his practice, Fuerst Eye Center, in Glendale, California. Dr. Layne Hashimoto partnered with Dr. Timothy Lee when they opened the Eye Care Center of Kauai in 2007. Since then patients of all ages have come to rely on Dr. Hashimoto’s compassionate care and expertise in a range of medical and surgical eye care services, including refractive surgery and vision therapy.
Dr. Hashimoto was born and raised on Kauai, where he graduated from Kauai High School before temporarily leaving the island to attend Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. After graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Visual Science, he earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry, then went on to complete externships in primary care, ocular disease, refractive surgery, vision therapy, and contact lenses.
Dr. Hashimoto worked for the Heritage Vision Center in Beaverton, Oregon, until he decided it was time to return home to Kauai. He joined Dr. Timothy Lee as part of the Kauai Medical Clinic in 2003, then they decided to go into private practice and opened the Eye Care Center of Kauai.
When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Hashimoto enjoys spending time with his wife, Lindsay, and their 3 children, Lauryn, Brooke, and Blake. He’s an avid sports fan who loves playing golf, basketball, and tennis.

Dr. Stacey Morinaga provides expert eye care to patients of all ages at the Eye Care Center of Kauai, in Lihue, Hawaii, but she specializes in treating pediatric and geriatric patients. Dr. Morinaga is an expert in fitting a wide range of patients with specialty contact lenses, including those with keratoconus and corneal transplants.
Dr. Morinaga graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. She went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree at the New England College of Optometry in Boston Massachusetts, where she completed externships in pediatrics, contact lenses, geriatrics, and ocular disease. Soha Rafi O.D. was born and raised in Chicago, IL. She graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO). While at ICO, she traveled with Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity on a medical mission trip to Oaxaca, Mexico to help serve different villages within Oaxaca with eye care.
Dr. Rafi has a strong passion for optometry and providing comprehensive eye care. This led her to pursue a postdoctoral residency in Primary Eye Care with an emphasis on anterior segment disease and specialty contact lenses at Henry Ford OptimEyes in West Bloomfield, MI. She has a particular interest in keratoconus and has found a drive and passion for fitting scleral and rigid permeable contact lenses.

Dr. Anand Bhatt is a leading expert in Orange County in the fields of cataract and glaucoma surgery. Dr. Ling Bei MD is a fellowship -trained glaucoma and cataract surgeon with a particular interest in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. She also performs laser-assisted cataract surgery with specialty intraocular lenses to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses.
Dr. Bei graduated magna cum laude from Duke University with a double major in Biomedical Engineering and English. She completed her medical school training at the University of Pittsburgh and her ophthalmology residency at Washington University in St. Louis where she was honored to receive the Resident Research Award. She further received dedicated glaucoma surgical training at the University of California - San Diego with world-renowned leaders in the glaucoma field and was chosen to receive the Fellow Teaching Award for her contributions to mentorship of other ophthalmologists. Dr. Steven Saba is a board-certified optometrist who grew up in nearby Los Alamitos, CA. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology. He then went on to pursue his optometric studies at the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University. Dr. Saba completed his clinical studies with an emphasis in ocular disease management, primary eye care, and pre/ post-operative care for LASIK and cataract patients. His education included externships at esteemed clinics such as The Wellish Vision Institute (Las Vegas, Nevada), Santa Fe Indian Hospital (Santa Fe, New Mexico), and Orange County Retina (Orange County, California).
Since entering the field, Dr. Saba has worked in various clinical settings and served a diverse patient demographic. He is passionate about providing thorough, compassionate care and improving his patients’ quality of life.

Dr. Felicia Donnolo attended St. Ephrem’s, then Notre Dame Academy of Staten Island, New York University, and Brooklyn College on academic scholarships and graduated cum laude from Brooklyn College. Following postgraduate medical training at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre of the University of Toronto, Dr. Brian Herschorn completed his ophthalmology residency at the Scheie Eye Institute of the University of Pennsylvania.
Fellowship training was completed at the Manhattan Eye Ear & Throat Hospital, here in New York City. Dr. Herschorn became a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology in 1983 and has practiced ophthalmology in New York City since that time. Dr. Herschorn has almost 30 years of extensive experience on the forefront of cataract surgery and almost 10 years of experience providing LASIK and refractive surgery to the community. His unique skills in the fields of oculoplastic, orbital, lacrimal, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery have been an asset to Ophthalmology Associates of Bay Ridge since 1985, when he began his affiliation.
Dr. Brian Herschorn has published a number of scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals such as the British Journal of Ophthalmology and Ophthalmology, the journal of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Herschorn has held teaching posts at the Manhattan Eye Ear & Throat Hospital and, then, at the Mount Sinai Medical Center where he is affiliated. He is also on staff at the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary of the Beth Israel Medical Center and through the Manhattan Eye Ear & Throat Hospital at the Lenox Hill Hospital.
